The staff are unqualified and unwilling. I requested my grandmother be tested for an infection and it took ten days for staff to requisition a simple urine culture. In the meantime, full infection raging, my grandmother fractured her pelvis and staff did nothing about it for several days. The family had to do the jobs that should've been done by staff members. Communication was miserable. When we confronted the supervisors, we were told that "it's always something" with my grandmother. She is 90 years old!

It was getting late in the day when we visited Legacy Place Parma. All the staff was serving supper, so we really didn’t get to talk to anybody. We just kind of walked around, and it’s very institutional looking. That feeling like you’re in an institution like back in the '50s or '60s kind of thing, in an older, drab-looking place. It smells like pine sol and ammonia, some kind of disinfectant smell to it, like you're cleaning the floors. I mean, it was nice and clean; it’s just an older style of institution. It was all tiled floors, all artificial lighting. It was like a 4-story facility, so it’s kind of hard to have sunroofs. It was an older building that had been built in the '70s, a much older building than the rest I’ve visited. We dropped in unannounced, and they were all busy in the dining room. The dining room reminded me of when I was in junior high school - the mid-'70s, kind of like a cafeteria style. The floors were tiled, and it had a long picnic bench type of table with chairs.

My friend's mother moved into Legacy Place 3 years ago. It's very clean, warm , and she gets very good care. Her unit is beautiful. Her daughter decorated it and made it as nice. The staff treats you very nicely. But I know my friend was very frustrated, and it took a while to get them onboard with things. Every now and again she complains about stuff and she writes the owner, or she has a meeting with the nursing staff, because they do have nurse on staff in the assisted living side, which was important for my friend and her brother. Her mother can't speak so it's critical that they try. They have a parlor, live entertainment probably twice a month, parties for the holidays, and they do bingo. My friend's mom is a little bit cognitively impaired due to her brain injury, but she knows what's going on. She just can't communicate. We go there sometimes and just have dinner with her. I do know for a fact that their laundry facilities aren't really great. As a matter of fact, my friend gets her mother's laundry twice a week and brings it home.

My husband has been with Legacy Place Parma since July, in assisted living. He had a very nice large apartment, large bathroom, and walk in closet. He loved their cooking, 3 meals a day. That is the only thing that got him walking with walker!!! All nurses and aids took very good care of him. Facility decorates beautiful for holidays. Dining room was very pleasant. I recommend this place to all and it was also reasonable, as compared to other places.

My Grandfather stayed short term at Legacy Place after he fell and broke his shoulder. He needed extra help during his recovery and the staff at Legacy Place was wonderful. Grandpa can be a bit cranky, but everyone worked with him, especially the physical therapists who he met with almost every day during his stay. The worked with him all the time so he could go home. He wasn't interested in any of the onsite activities, but there were plenty available. I think they even had a luau or tropical party while he was there. There we also several nice sitting areas where my Grandma could take a little break. The facility was very clean and everyone I interacted with was friendly. They also helped us set up an onsite birthday party with quite a few guests. My Grandma was also pleased with his care.
