My husband was in Cardinal Woods for rehab. They were neat and tidy. They got him rehabilitated and sent home. I got a little irritated with them because my husband wasn’t given medication as he should. The rooms were pretty small. Some were caring and some weren’t, and were only doing their job.

Do not send your family member to this place...The care is horrible ...the staff does not know what they are doing..aides doing procedures only that a doctor or RN should be doing..My family member ended up in ICU in less then 24 hours after admitting..and will never go back to this place..by no means are they a vent weaning facility..ODC should be notified about this facility @ will be...I cannot give this facility a rate..

Cardinal Woods was by far the best nursing home I have been in. Individual rooms, you are allowed your own belongings. High def tv in every room. Activities for what ever wishes to spend time doing them. I found the staff to be kind and caring, and would listen if you needed to vent. At times, if stuck in bed, they were they did not come immediately, as so many red lights were on. Still if the time comes and I must go into a home. I will choose this one. I never smelled urine ever. You complain if you are not happy, and they tend to give better care.

We have our son in Cardinal Woods Skilled Nursing. They are great. They are terrific for the most part. His room is the best room he's gotten since his accident. It is excellent. It is the best one that he has been in. His motorcycle accident was twenty years ago, so he has been in several facilities out in California and several in this area. He is well taken care of. He is a total care -- he had a bad brain injury, so he is unable to walk or talk or eat. They need the Hoyer lift, and they take him from bed to wheelchair and wheelchair to bed. I wanted to find something that was as good and closer, and I couldn't find anything as good. For him, this is just absolutely ideal. Their population is so much younger than what we found in other places, and there are lots of people that are able to communicate. Even though he can't talk, he understands everything, and there are lots of people that come by and say, "Hey, Eddie. How's it going?" There are lots of people who used to ride motorcyles too. It is not stuffy. There are lots of old lady places that would not have been good, and he was in a couple of those before. They permit smoking in certain designated areas outside. They have a pavilion, and because Eddie has smoked in his life, it just means that they are more tolerant of their lifestyle, so it attacts people like him -- the wild and crazy guys that ride bikes and do dangerous stuff. It was so lively. There was always something going on. The people are so friendly; the staff and the patients are absolutely great.

The care was horrible for my father. I would tell help that he needed to be change, he would sit in human waste for 45 minutes or longer. Skill help would put patients in the hall in the morning and the late afternoon they would be in the same place and same position. I do have to say their physical theopy is wonderful and try to help patient needs. When you walk in most of the time it smelled like urine. I can go on for hours about this place if it is a short time to get rehabilited that area is clean and wonderful. But if your love one can not do for him or herself I would say stay away as far as possible.
