Wesleyan Village is an older facility, which I didn’t mind, but it needed a little TLC. The woman who was helping us make a decision seemed awfully pushy and seemed more like a salesman, and I didn't like that. The place was nice, a little worn and very comfortable, like an old shoe.

The tour at Wesleyan Village was informative and helpful. It gave us a good overview of what to expect. They have memory care, nursing care, assisted and independent living. The place looked fine to me. If you're in assisted living, they provide three meals. They have a swimming pool, a chapel, and they offer church services. They go on excursions here and there, and they have programs. The staff seemed to be caring. They seemed to do a good job. The people that we know who live there have been happy with their care. We have eaten there on various occasions and their food was good.

My mother is in Wesleyan Village. It is a continuum of care, and it will take you from assisted living through end of days. The people there are very nice. My mother is very happy there, and the residents seem very happy there. Everyone I talk to have a very good and positive thing to say, and it very reassuring to know that it has very positive feedback from everyone I search about it. The entertainment is very nice. They bring in classical pianist and cellist. So, the entertainment level is better than the average. We are just really happy to where she is at. The food is very good. In fact, when I go there, I love to go to the restaurant. It is like a fancy restaurant or you can go to the cafe. I also go the salad bars and they have a fruit bar that I love where they have all these beautiful raspberries, blackberries and blueberries fresh that you can put into your yogurt. They have wonderful food. They have movie nights, crafts and a wood shop. They have a lot of activities. My mom is like, "I'm going here with so and so" or "We are gonna go to movie nights" or "We are gonna go down to the art room." You can see things in their store there that are made by the residents. It is a big place. They even have a pool to do the water exercises. The physical therapy room is nice, and the girl that they have there is really nice.

Our visit to Wesleyan Village was wonderful and they had so many things. It was our first choice and we wanted to go there because it had a full continuum care. However, you have to have a quite a bit of money to go there. We saw an apartment -- it was very nice and it had a washer and dryer inside. That was a very nice feature to have. They had very good food. They offer two meals a day and housekeeping every two weeks. The staff who gave us a tour was wonderful, excellent and caring.

Our mother was a resident of the Wesleyan Village for nineteen years--first living independently, then in assisted living, followed by skilled nursing. All the staff at the Village supported her in caring, thoughtful, attentive ways. Because my sister and I were long-distance care-givers, we were especially aware of and attentive to the good quality of her care. Everyone--nursing staff, social workers, chaplain, aides, those providing support services, folks at the front desk, even maintenance and tech support--were helpful and kind. We have been deeply grateful to the Wesleyan Village.
