My relative lives in the north building. The apartments are decent. Most of the staff are fine. The food used to be good, a reasonable diet and now is horrible. Most items are high salt, high cholesterol, most choices are one or both. Some nights they serve only highly spiced food. Often the food is cold. There is no nutritionist looking over the menu or how it is prepared. There is a very limited menu (hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwich, salad...) that they serve every night then they have 3 choices that vary (one fish, the other two non-fish). Their excuse for the unhealthy diet is that this is not assisted living. Umm and what has that to do with serving high salt diets (with limited options for low salt) to a population that often has high blood pressure and so needs to limit salt? Or high cholesterol diets to a population that often struggles with that? Not to mention that is not a diet that is healthy for anyone. If they want to serve food that is not good for you then they need to limit it to one choice a day. Many eat sandwiches for dinner, not because they want to but because the other choices are bad. Most buildings require buying the meal plan.

Understaffed and unprofessional. CNA's touching a hamburger pattie to see if it was warm before serving it. Rehab unit understaffed and filthy

We toured Breckenridge, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were gorgeous, clean, and in a beautiful wooded setting. It was conveniently located, and the grounds were fabulous. The dining area was very clean, and the menu was good. I would absolutely recommend it.

When we inquired about one of their homes we were told you have to pay for the home like any other house in full. The catch: when your loved one passes on they take the home back and resell it and nothing goes back to family who bought it. So effectively your loved one could buy a home for 250k, pass on in 6 months, and be out the entire 250k. I find this morally reprensible. They appear to be taking advantage of old people and hiding behind their church affiliation. It is possible I misunderstood the process but I asked twice because I could not believe my ears. Buyer beware!

Nason Center of Breckenridge Village is a nice facility, but they have a big fence because on the other side is a street. It is huge. It would remind you of a college campus in that you need a bus to get around to all of the different areas. They have apartments, a beautiful pool, a chapel, and brownstones, which are glorified apartments and buildings. Once you go into the individual brownstone, you think you're in a home. Fairmont is their long-term nursing center where my brother-in-law lived until he died. The building is beautiful, but there isn't any grass. They have parking lots. The building goes from one street to the other. Going from Ridge Road down to Route 20, it's almost three-fourths of a mile of campus. If they want to go the activity room, they would have to take an in-house bus that runs all of the time. The brownstone people go to a different dining room; there are three or four dining rooms on campus.

I know some people who live at Breckenridge Village and they all love it. It is attractive. They have additional services you need when you need them. It is a top of the line place.

Brecken Ridge is an all-inclusive facility from independent living through hospice care. We liked everything that we saw about it. It suited my parent's needs. The rooms were large and spacious and the people were very nice and caring.

I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of this particular assisted care facility. The staff was impeccably professional and helped my father through a difficult time. They treated him with dignity and respect, and were always there when he needed assistance. The facilities were beautiful, comfortable, and well-designed. My father was even impressed by the food that was served. Since my father is severely handicapped, it was important to us to find an assisted care facility that could truly take full care of him and not leave him by himself for very long. The staff did not disappoint us. They were always available for my father when he needed assistance with anything (even if he did something small, like drop a book and not be able to pick it up). The staff always completed such tasks with a smile and never made him feel as if he was a burden. One staff member in particular sticks out (I will not mention her name). This particular person was always very helpful and attentive. She made sure that not only my father was taken care of, but myself as well if I was visiting him. If I ever need to make the decision to put someone in an assisted care facility again, I will surely choose Breckenridge.
