My father has moved into Mallard Cove Senior Living. I like the price that it offered. Even if there were changes with the residents (if you're in assisted living and if you started to decline), the price would be the same. It didn't have that assisted living/nursing home feel and smell. It had the little pond with the ducks. It's kind of nice for the residents to be able to sit there (even if they're in their apartment) to look out at the little lake. The staff seemed to be pretty friendly. There was a discrepancy that I encountered with a nurse and I haven't addressed that, but I know that sometimes there's going to be differences. So far, the food is OK. My father hasn't complained about it. There are activities, but he hasn't taken advantage of some of them because of his oxygen situation. The game room is nice. They have movies and a happy hour. It's close to hotels, but not too close to a hospital.

The staff and the aides are exceptional at what they do. The staff is always in good spirits and genuinely seem to care about the residents. The residents are happy to be there. My grandmother says she feels like she is at home and very well taken care of. The food there is phenomenal and the dining area is always immaculate. Chef Chris always makes a point to create a warm and welcoming experience. I would definitely recommend Mallard Cove for your family.

Stay away!!! Save your parent and your money! We had Mom here for a year, giving them chance after chance. They always had an excuse that they were going through changes to make it better. There was always new staff! Mom was always getting her medicine at the wrong time and sometimes not at all! So where did those extra narcotics go? There wasn't any left when we moved her out! They were trying to force us to move Mom into the Willows side of the place which is $1600.00 more per month. The workers that spent time with her daily said she wasn't ready to go into Willows. But they moved her and her bed into Willows without even talking to any of the family members because she thought her sister was coming to see her and she was standing inside the building but by the front door with her suitcase. She complied when they told her to go back to her apartment! We had to get a lawyer to get her moved back into her apartment! This was the LAST straw!!! Don't put your parent through this! Disappointed in a facility that would do this to the elderly!

My dad's apartment in Mallard Cove is very nice and clean. It looks like a 1-bedroom condo that has a bedroom, living room, kitchen, and dining room. There's a lake at the back where he fishes, and he loves to fish. They also have a happy hour and there's a lot of stuff going on there. The staff is great and he likes the food. They also have a library and a church, which he will be helping to preach. It's a great place, and it's also cheaper than other places.

We chose Mallard Cove Senior Living for my mother because it's very nice and convenient. Everyone seemed happy when we visited. The staff was very nice and competent, willing to help me with anything, and it will be an easy transition. The food was good and the dining room was pretty. They had an outdoor eating area, a theater, exercise facility, a happy hour every night, church services, and field trips.

Mallard Cove was very spacious. It was almost too much space, and that can be an issue for somebody. The lady there had made cookies; they have very good cookies. There were different activities going on, and people were very social in the hallways. The pricing was good, and the facility was nice.

I liked Mallard Cove very much; it had a very nice property, and the rooms were large and well-appointed. They had a walking trail around the center of the facility and a pond. I liked the dining room, and I also like the amount of staff they had per person in the memory care section. The pricing was excellent. They had the option there where you can pay once a year, which none of the other facilities had, so it results in a very good savings for the residents. The staff was very nice. I didn’t interact with many of them except for the sales agent, but those that I did meet were very friendly.

If I were you I would run, this place is awful . THE DEMENTIA UNIT HAS RESIDENTS THAT HAVE DECLINED SO MUCH, THEY CANT EVEN GET THE PROPER CARE. THEY SHOULDNT EVEN BE IN THE FACLITY. I WALKED IN AND MY MOTHER WAS SITTING NEXT TO A PILE OF PUKE IN THE ACTIVITES ROOM BECAUSE NO ONE WANTED TO CLEAN UP THE PILE. THE WHEEL CHAIR BOUND RESIDENTS WILL SIT IN THEIR CHAIRS ALL DAY UNLESS THE FAMILY REQUESTS OTHERWISE, THIS PLACE IS A JOKE

I’ve been to Mallard Cove for a visit and loved it. This is the place where we would love to put my father, so we are trying to convince my mother to go. The staff is great. The assisted living space is wonderful and makes you feel that you are at home and not in a hospital room. The dining room and common room is great. Their gym is nice. They have movies, take them out on outings, have mass, and do games and bingo. They also have happy hour at 4:00. I was very impressed with it. Overall, it’s a very nice place.

My mother was in Mallard Cove. If you go there, you better be able to take care of yourself because they really don’t do that much for you. They would let my mother sit in her waste for half a day at a time. My best friend and I went over and started feeding my mother because they brought her food in and just set it down. She didn’t know what to do with it because she has Alzheimer’s. I think the facility was clean. The nurses were nice, but they just didn’t want to do anything. It was assisted living, and when my mom first went in there, she could take care of herself. They would get her out at 7, but they did not put a coat on her. She was always cold, and they took her outside; all she did was just sit outside. The meals were good, but no one was there to feed her. The price is very high for a self-pay.

The staff at Mallard Cove was very good, and the rooms were very nice. The food and the dining room setup are excellent. They have an activity director, and they have all kinds of activities going on all the time.

I have been at Mallard Cove a few times. First impressions were good. We have friends in there, and they enjoy the place. They have very nice apartments with balconies and patios. They have a lake in the center of it that’s very nice. They have very nice activities around the lake. It’s very clean -- well taken care of. They have game rooms and a bar. They have a place where they can have snacks around. They have a very nice dining room with very good food. The staff is very good; they’re calling me from time to time.

If you love your family member, do not move them here!! My grandmother was put in this place by her kids who live 5 hours away. I live about five minutes away and stop in to see her often. She is not taken care of. It takes at the very least 45 minutes for a nurse to respond to the emergency button being pushed. I tried it myself one afternoon and it took nearly 2 hours for someone to respond. My grandmother has early dementia and I feel the nurses figure that she can't remember when she pressed that button, so they don't hurry. She falls nearly every day and has major bruising all over her body. I am so disgusted with this place. If I had the authority, I would have moved her long ago.

We did visit Mallard Cove for my mother and we were able to put her in there. We love the place, it's wonderful. The apartments are nice and the dining room is really wonderful. The food is like eating in a restaurant. They have all kinds of activities. They have bingo, Yoga, bible study, and a church on Wednesday night. They also have movies. We are really impressed with the staff and the facility is great.

Mallard Cove Senior Living was reasonably close to us so we went to visit. They would be able to provide what my father needed like exercise, physical therapy, and memory care. They were also building a nursing home so when my dad would go from assisted living to nursing home, he would stay in the same facility. They had been good working with us and made sure that neither one of my parents had depleted their savings, and they also tried to help us with veterans aid for my father. We hoped they would be able to stay there.

We already placed a down payment at Mallard Cove apartment. It's expensive but they don't charge you extra for every assisted-living help that they give you. It's all included in your payment. The staff gave us dinner when they showed all around. They also gave us a lot of information. I would recommend this facility.

My 84 year old mother enjoys living here. The facility is beautiful and the staff are friendly and attentive. A nurse brings mom her meds twice a day and mom enjoys chatting with them. I think she thinks of them like family. Mom is able to keep her cat there which is very important to her. On top of all this it is very affordable when compared to similar facilities in the greater Cincinnati region. I would definitely recommend this place. (Mom has early-mid stage Alzheimer's.)
