Mayfair was not a good experience. They are understaffed and it's not clean. The therapy department is very subpar. The therapy manager decided to quit giving my family member therapy because they said she wasn't progressing even though the family offered to pay for it out of pocket. They refused to take her to the bathroom because they said she could not bear weight. The first day we moved her out of Mayfair, she was taken to the bathroom and bore weight. Now, months later, she is able to walk with a walker. She was at Mayfair for 8 1/2 months. They pretty much gave up on her. They didn't want to do anything to help her progress. She left Mayfair with a UTI. Who knows how long she had it. The nurses at Mayfair were not hands on with patient's care (their job was to pass out meds) and some (not all) of the aids really did not want to be there. Call lights were answered anywhere from 45 - 90 minutes. The aids would come into the patient's room and turn the call light off and leave without helping the patient so that it would look like the light had been answered. When I mentioned this to one of the nurses, she backed what the aids were doing. The Director of Nursing refused to return phone calls and the communication with the family was difficult and often non-existent. It's an old facility, but the biggest problem was that it wasn't clean. If a place is clean and the medical care is great, it doesn't matter how old a place is. But Mayfair is none of this. I spoke with the Director of the facility a number of times and nothing changed. I would not recommend sending a family member to Mayfair, especially if they need a lot of care.

My husband was at Mayfair last summer. They are very low staffed not able to care for patients. My husband has COPD they were not giving him his breathing treatments. The rooms are very outdated two beds in the rooms with two TV's you can't watch TV because you hear two TV's at once. They need to update this facility and hire more nursing staff to give good care. I requested a tour before the hospital released him to go to Mayfair. They did not let me tour the facility - I sed why now because I would have never agreed for him to go here. The faculty is dirty I had to clean him room daily and make sure he had his breathing treatments. Think twice before you let a loved one go to Mayfair.

This place is a joke! I wouldn’t take my worst enemy here! I feel so guilty for having to leave my father here. He was released from the hospital and sent here for PT to build up his strength so he was manageable at home. He was ordered to have PT 5-7 days a week. He was here for almost 4 weeks and only had PT 6 times. He was made to lay in bed the remainder of his time. He was only given a bath twice. I called the director of nursing on 3 different occasions and received no return call. When I talked to his social worker about the issues she responded by placing blame on therapy and nursing. She offered no apology, solution, or reasons. I can’t totally discredit this facility. My father did encounter TWO positive incidences. One is Alvin. Alvin is a RN here and is absolutely fabulous. He took the time to get to know my father. When he made his rounds he would come in and cut up with him. My father was having a hard time taking swallowing his medication and Alvin found something to make it easier on him…pudding. He came in every night with pudding and medicine for my father. The second positive thing for this facility was the attentiveness they gave to my father when he had a engagement that required him to leave the facility. My father was scheduled to be picked up at 12:30. They made sure he was bathed the night before and on the day of the event they got him up, dressed him in his suit and made sure he looked great. This place is very cold and unwelcoming. Every time we visited we were made to feel as if we were imposing on the staff. We had to be buzzed in the door and made to wait several minutes before even being acknowledged. My advice to anyone considering this place is to consider other options. This is no place for someone who needs rehabilitation.

The staff was very friendly. I can’t remember all their names but Juna and Brett were two of the most excellent and helpful members . The facility was clean enough except my toliet was never cleaned while I was there. I had severe diarrhea and even though I was the only one using it I believe it should have been cleaned at least once. There was such inconsistencies among the nurses. They were nice but had different training or views on when to give pain meds. I waited once 10 hrs and another 6 hrs. My pain meds were due every 4 hours when I asked for it. I wish I could remember their names because a lot of the nite shift were sensitive to the patients needs. Juna let me shower everytime I asked. She was very knowledgeable and took time to explain everything. I couldn’t believe Bretts patience. The Social worker was very caring and helpful. The food was not bad most of the time. Nice portions . I couldn’t get anyone to check on getting me the diet I needed so I ate what I thought would be ok and used Grub Hub. The lady in next bed that I shared the room with was nice. I never did see a Dr but the NP came in she was training another NP so I couldn’t get my problems addressed. I would agree to coming to this home again under specific agreements. Overall I liked everyone and the home.

My friend is in Mayfair Village Nursing Care Center. She seems to be doing OK. From what I've seen the food menu is very, very good. She seems satisfied with the staff, but I haven't spoken to her about it. She started in there for rehab, but they found out that it really will not work for her, so now she's in nursing care. I have not seen the dining area. I don't know what kind of room she's in now, because I wasn't able to get in. The last room she had -- because she was there last year, or the year before when she broke her leg -- it seemed to be OK. She had a room right off the entry, and she seemed to be happy with the physical therapy people at that time. One of the major things is the convenience of Mayfair: the convenience of visiting her, and of other friends visiting her. It's not like she was across town; this facility is very, very convenient. The office staff has been very accommodating as far as helping us with information, as far as the payments go, and just answering questions in general.

Both my parents have spent time at Mayfair receiving rehabilitation. The care was top notch and the staff is very friendly. Both my parents were very happy with their stay at Mayfair. Would highly recommend this facility.

My wife has been staying in Mayfair Village. The people working there are very good. I'm very pleased because of that. Their food is decent enough too. My wife has not been participating in activities because she is bedridden. They usually have a group night on Fridays where they have music and entertainers.
