I have several family members with special needs, and sometimes it can be quite overwhelming to make sure what kind of care that they are receiving. My Aunt Jeanette, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's years ago, and has been bed ridden for the last two. Up until recently, she lived with her husband (My Uncle) but unfortunately he is becoming too old and brittle to take care of her. Since I live hours away and have a very busy work schedule, there was no way I could help as much as I would like. So as a family, we made the decision to put her in a nursing home. We choose Russell's, because it wasn't very far from her home, and it is a smaller facility, making it feel like more of a comfortable home. We wanted a small facility, so that she could get used to the staff instead of introducing new people to her every day, risking confusion for her. The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful, and cooperative with my Aunt's needs. We never have to worry if she is getting mistreated, or not getting properly nourished. They provide her with sufficient meals throughout the day, and really try to get her up and let her ride in her wheel chair to the recreation area, instead of just letting her lye in the bed and die. Every time that I visit, the facility is very clean, and has a pleasant smell, unlike other's I have saw. I am continually impressed, and hope they keep up the good work.
