I've been living in Highland Assisted Living since August 22, and I'm not impressed. The rooms are hotel-style with two beds to a room and an extended bathroom outside the room. There aren't any activities; they just have coloring books for some of the residents. However, I like the attendants and the residents.

I visited this assisted living center when my great Aunt was living here. She got sick around the age of 60 and lived there for nearly 10 years before finally passing. The facility itself is very well kept from the outside. Gardens, paths, and fields surround the building with ample parking up front. Upon entering the lobby is spacious and inviting. The front desk help, however, have never been too particularly friendly. Not once while I visited did they greet myself or my family. Inside amenities for residents were plentiful and offered many different activities. Bingo was a hugely popular event and I even participated a couple times myself. As a whole, the inside of the building was kept in decent shape, but seemed to be a little bit older and needed some visual upgrades to see more modern looking. The rest of the staff was basically seen but not heard until a resident requested it. However, that did leave time for families to interact in private. There were many different opportunities for residents to interact with each other, other than bingo that is. Groups of different interests were apparent and jigsaw puzzles always brought them together. Overall, it was a very decent quality place for those living there.
