We are keeping my mom at Elderwood Residences at Wheatfield. The thing that I like the best about that place is that it's close to our home. It's convenient for us to be able to go and take care of her. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They answer questions. However, they do not provide meals. They have bingo, and they have picnics on holidays. You can bring your pet. They have little pet things.
It is pretty much independent. My mom has to pay for everything, so she's been doing her own stuff. The one thing they do have is security and cleaning. They come clean the apartment, but they don't have to do any of the lawn care. Everything else is on her own. I feel like it is too expensive for what they get. It is good there, but it's way too expensive. My mom has been there for over 10 years now.

Mom lived in her own apartment for almost
4 1/2 years. She was blessed to have lived in a community where she was treated and cared for like family from the very first day! Everyone from administration (Tammy and Nicole) to the front desk, cleaning, dining, activities, and maintenance staff is absolutely wonderful! Their caring and concern for her wellbeing, as well as the other residents, is evident on a daily basis. Mom enjoyed the friendship of her fellow residents as well as the commraderie of the Elderwood staff. Getting her hair done weekly was a necessity and she enjoyed attending the various activities offered, with music being her most favorite. Our family highly recommends Elderwood Residences at Wheatfield!

The rooms are beautiful. Housekeeping cleans the rooms every week. The staff is engaging and delightful. The food is excellent, better than some restaurants I have eaten at. There is breakfast, lunch, and dinner available. There are two dinner choices, two desserts choices, and soup or salad. If you do not like either dinner choice there is a side menu you may choose from. Every Friday is happy hour which includes a food buffet and white or red wine. If you choose to eat in your apartment, the staff will delivery your meal to your room. The entertainment is excellent and engaging. Donna who is the Activity Director is amazing. There are many different activities the residents can participate in. The facility has a pool table and exercise room and many residents enjoy the Tia Chi class.

Elderwood Residences at Wheatfield is a wonderful community with very helpful people who work there and run it. The staff member who gave me the tour was very good. We've eaten there and it was very good. They provided music for the residents, car shows, and they offer transportation to movies and play houses.

Excellent and friendly staff who go out of their way to help. Food is unbelievably good! Better than restaurants. Tammy Ott is the administrator and she is beyond caring, kind, and welcoming.

I got a patio home that I can move into in December at Elderwood Residences. It has an open-room concept with a bedroom and a kitchen, and it has 2 bedroom and 2 bathrooms. It's really nice up there, it's really pretty, and they take care of everything. I met some of the people and they're really nice. The staff has been absolutely great.

Elderwood Residences is very clean and has tons of activities for the people. They take the people places, if they want to get out and they can’t drive, and if they can drive they are free to come as long as they please. The food is delicious, and the people are very friendly. The staff goes out of their way to help the residents.

We ended up with Elderwood. I like the management, assistant management, and the general manager; the cleanliness; and conveniences, like they serve dinner every night if the resident is interested and clean once a week. It is also in a nice location near my home within walking distance, so my brother can walk to my house anytime he wants. They have movies and card games. He is very happy there. It’s a little pricey, though.

We went to Crestwood, and we already have our name on the list. The waiting list is about three to four months long. Our overall experience is good. The activities were good; they have bingo. They have both independent and assisted living, and the residents are very happy.

The apartments at Elderwood Senior Care had a living area, a stove, a refrigerator, a dishwasher, and either two bedrooms or one bedroom -- whichever you want. The sanitation is excellent. They have a dining room across the street where you can get a meal for $10.00 and take it back home. It is very nicely decorated and the lighting is good. They come in and clean the house once a week. They also make your bed and take care of the garbage.
