The facility is fairly clean - my relative has been a resident for 2-3 months and his health has greatly diminished. There is a staff shortage and it appears information is not shared when shifts change regarding status of patients. Simple tasks of wound care, dental checks and updates take many weeks. Family is often treated in a dismissive manner when asking questions about their loved ones. The rehab OT, PT staff are wonderful - but would not recommend this for long term care patients.

My father was a resident there for a few years. Upon visiting him on D Unit, the rooms always smelled and very profusely they smelled. I walked into his room and always saw many lights to other rooms going off while the aids just sat behind the desk and on their phones. People were screaming for help and I walked past many residents just drooling and and doing nothing. I always took him out on pass to get him away from that nonsense. Nurses were never to be found either. During the COVID, I spoke to him often as well. He survived and was transferred to C Unit. More COVID was coming around again. The staff was coming in after being found positive of COVID. The staff is getting people residents sick again and again, he said and purposefully. St. Camillus knows it and could care less. I immediately pulled him out of there after finding out the news. It's utterly sickening and downright dangerous they are doing this and could care less. I believe they are doing this for money and personal gain!

i had the unfortunate experience of moving from acute rehab at upstate. ffollowing. a stroke to st cammilus for 45 days very good pts but so limited as too how much therapy notallowed to exercise / walk out side of therapy sessions. averaged 20 mins a day! filthy grossly understaffed. would ring for bathroom and wait 30-40 mins. virtuallly no routine medical such as checks on lungs heart. had standing order for blood tests2x week. done once in 45 days! had to beg to get a shower. or bedding changed. i was lucky in that I could speak up for myself but still so many residents unable to speak up and spoken to so rudely very misleading to pitch rehab and nursing home in same facility but “separate“ for that I blame upstate.not separat st alllall. it is a horrible place. i wouldnt wish it on anyone i would have been better off sitting in a chair at home with a visiting nurse once a week and exercises from the internet. maybe all nursing homes are like this? i hope not. change the system! avoid this place at all costs

I have a mother who resides there sadly. She was on the 2nd floor but being moved around constantly either due to death of the residents or people leaving. She and I are sick of other rooms constantly smelling like feces and urine. She is bored out of her mind as they don't offer much activities and entertainers constantly call off. The food is always horribly cold too. The CNAS would rather sit on their phones then to help people. I've seen multiple lights go off for hours while I was visiting. This place is a no go for anyone elderly or for rehabilitation for that matter.

First off, the rehab staff is excellent. This complaint is regarding the medical and case worker staff. Caution: be very clear in your communication with all staff and demand a clear explanation from staff/medical professionals about your care and discharge date. Follow up with them about making sure the paperwork is prepared for the proper discharge date. My father was due to leave at the end of 20 days, which were the number of days covered by insurance. The case worker gave him and my mother a vague answer of "you will be here an extra day so that will cost you $150" and no explanation as to the medical necessity of that extra day. My parents explained that they did not wish to stay an extra day and that they would like the paperwork prepared for discharge on the agreed upon day. It was not prepared in time. They waited for more than 2 hours while the paperwork was drawn up. This story is too complicated to explain briefly, but for your own sake, double check whatever Dr. Siddiqui tells you with your own physician. He seemed to tell different stories each of the 3 (yes, only 3 in 20 days) times any of us spoke to him. Despite complaining of discomfort Saturday morning, my father received nothing stronger than Tylenol and was told by Dr. Siddiqui that he might have developed something new that should garner another day or two in the facility. Please explain to me why no one was available to evaluate my father over the weekend. Please explain to me why a medicine stronger than Tylenol could not be prescribed by an on call physician when my father is in a facility being monitored (one assumes) by multiple professionals. I won't even get into the negligence of the staff who told him multiple times they would come back to address an issue and then did not. The coup de grace was the seemingly orchestrated plot to keep him in the facility past the point of it being covered by insurance. There was always just one more phone call to make or one more requirement. They gave him a muscle relaxer while they were filling out the paperwork. This staff owes my parents and my sister, who was there to help, an apology. Their behavior was unprofessional and frankly disturbing.

Much neglect of several residents as the staff would rather sit on their phones. The activities and the dining was great. The CNAS and nurses well don't care about the residents. I have a mother that is currently staying there and luckily she is independent. She constantly tells me and I see the neglect.

My mother was at St. Camillus for rehab after a fall. The occupational and physical therapists were very good and encouraging. But the sad reality is a tiny portion of a patient's stay in therapy. The rest of the time patients are in their rooms. If you complain about an aide, there is retribution. For example, they forgot to put my mother to bed one night and she fell asleep in her wheelchair. Her roommate rang for help after 11 p.m. I complained. The next night, they put my mother to bed before 6:30 p.m. My mother wound up with a terrible bed sore. (Due to poor nursing -- inadequate checking on skin integrity) She complained of bladder pain and they said, you cannot have a bladder infection, you have a catheter. I was so concerned I asked the facility to call 911 and she went into the hospital. She was in sepsis from the bladder infection.

My mother is currently in this facility. While there are some fantastic aides that are caring and helpful. During the evening and weekend she has waited up to 2 hours for someone to come when she calls for help. This is totally unacceptable to me. They basically ignore her calls not even stopping in to check and see what is going on. She calls me usually after she has been waiting 45 minutes or so to use the bathroom and I call there and ask someone to go to her to help her. Then she gets the attitude from them. You took a job to help these people if you dont want to do that job then quit. The administration is in denial of exactly what is happening to the patients. No employee gets reprimanded for not doing their job correctly, they are allowed to talk to the patients any way they want including to bully, threaten and mistreat them. I have had about enough. I am sick that my mother is there and I have to leave her in these unsafe conditions. We have no options and no power to do anything. The whole system is broken, these places know we cant go after them. I am disgusted and heartbroken, this is my mother and I can help her.

I stayed at St. Camillus Residential Health Care Facility five times. It's really nice and I like it. They are very kind to their people and treat people well and with great respect. I would go there anytime. They have activities for everyone like bingo, and sometimes they have people come in and do little concerts and they sing. They have the most beautiful garden that people can enjoy in the summertime. It's a very clean facility too. I'm very impressed with that. The last time I was there I had a single room, which had its own shower. The staff is wonderful and always helpful. It's a large facility, but very nice.

My husband's grandmother is currently at St. Camillus, and they're doing a great job. She has some health issues, and they seem to be on top of it. It's clean when we visit. The staff is really friendly and helpful. We don't have complaints. She was on a liquid diet when she got there, and they've been able to get her back on regular food again. The staff has gone out of their way to make sure that she's leaving her room to eat meals. I like how the staff has managed at mealtime because she wouldn't leave her room nor do anything. The staff has always been incredibly helpful, answer our phone calls, and find information; we never get an "I don't know" or "I don't have time." They always get us whatever we need to know over the phone, and they're always pleasant when we're visiting. The facilities are a little dated but always clean. She's been there for a year and a half.

My mother is at St. Camillus, In four years the place has gone WAY down hill. The place stinks of urine and poo all the time. The rooms are dirty. I find mom's stuff missing. The executive staff couldn't run a dog house, let a nursing home. There are a few staff that have a brain and really care, but the most are uncaring, This is the second time that a ghost has broken my mom's wheelchair, they want her family to pay. I did once, NOT AGAIN. Her tooth fell out, some ghost glued it back in. without cleaning it, it fell out in her mouth and got lost, they want her family to pay NO. I took care of her by myself four and a half years, health reasons made me give up, I'm sorry I let her down and put her in that place. She calls me once a week, crying that she feel sick, or can't find anyone to put her to bed. I would like one mucky muck to get off their butt and do an aides job for one hour, they would fall flat on their faces. St. Camillus has a lot of fund raisers, nothing go to patient care.

My mom came here 4 months ago .. Very disappointed in the facility.How sad the people who raised us have to treated like this Her room continues to get dirty every time I come to see her . The bathtoom is filthy and her room floor I don't think it's been cleaned since she moved in.it only gets done when my sister and I wipe it up .. The staff is pleasant but when ask about the floor or bathroom or possibly getting her moved into another room nothing happens .. The facility needs a whole revamp but it's very obvious the corporation that owns it willnot put any money into it.. As of today the air condition unit has been broken for 5 days ... REALLY .., THATS SO On CALLED FOR.. I have my husband and inlaws are in nursing homes in Florida so I am well aware that there are good and bad., and The director and management need to clean it up .Because it can and should be a much nicer place .. Hoping to move mom soon ..

St. Camillus smelled like urine. The patients wait to be changed or go to the bathroom because they didn't have enough help. So a lot of times you sat wet and could not go to the bathroom, or they make sure you couldn't reach the call bell because that way they don't have to. You had to have help getting up and help to the bathroom. But they did it their time not yours.

I think that the staff of St. Camillus is good. When I’m there, they appear to be very good, and I think they give good care. I kind of looked around, checked out a few, and it’s convenient. I’ve been there a few times and my top two priorities are the facility is clean and there are no bad odors. I’ve watched my mother when she eats, and the food is OK from what I’ve seen. I know they have Bingo that my mother enjoys, at least once a week, and the activities vary. I think they’re doing a pretty good job with my mother. Nothing runs perfectly but from what I’ve seen and what I’ve explained, I think she gets the proper care. I don’t know what happens when I’m not there, but the head nurse seems on top of things, and when problems come up, she’s right on it to correct it, and she seems to be aware of what’s going on with my mother every time I call her. I’m sure that things happen differently when I’m not around but when I’m there, they do a pretty good job for the facility that it is. I think everybody tries, and I’m pretty satisfied.

St. Camillus is a multi-level skilled nursing community with very nice staff and clean. People are very responsive. They have lots of activities, which are wonderful, and they have a great way of doing meals. There’s an opportunity for group meals as well as individual. There is physical therapy and virtual support as well. It’s truly a good community. Dad was there since the end of May, and they handled him well.

My mom was put into St. Camillus -- a nursing home -- and they are excellent. The staff is taking care of mom, and they do a good job for her. I would recommend them.

My grandmother's stay was much less stressful than I had expected. St. Camillus has a lot of great amenities. First, there is a lot of parking and the Centro city buses run a line out there pretty frequently. The grounds are nice and are well maintained. There are tons of deer in the area and you'll see them almost daily, which is really nice. The facilities are bigger than a lot of others and they're well taken care of. The staff are all very friendly and attentive. Sometimes things can take longer than they should if you're going through the bureaucratic paperwork, which can get frustrating, but I've never experienced a negative outcome after the wait. People were very helpful if we needed assistance with anything. There was always someone around to give you a hand. The visiting hours are reasonable and no one ever hassled us out of there if we were still hanging out towards the end of the hours. The floor had lounges that were comfortable even for family members who weren't used to being in a nursing home. Things weren't too institutional. The furnishings made the place really feel like home. My grandmother recovered well since she wasn't as stressed. The nurses there were all very accommodating. I would certainly recommend St. Camillus over other nursing homes in the area.

My experience with St. Camillus was when my mother stayed there after a stroke. The facility was always clean and staff was very friendly. The rooms were a little small, but certainly workable. The grounds are well-kept and there are nice wide wheelchair accessible paths throughout the area. The facility owns its own vehicles for transportation to appointments, and outings.All in all I believe that this was a good facility. My only complaints would be call bell response and food quality. Sometimes it would take staff 10 minutes to complete a call. And residents were not satisfied with the food quality or variety. My mother was happy with her stay at St. Camillus. She enjoyed the activities and she had a nice comraderie with the staff. I would recommend this home to family and friends.
