We toured Legacy at Maiden Park for my mom. It is just an assisted living and memory care facility. We did not go into the memory care rooms, but the memory care rooms are in the same facility. The impression was good. The individual rooms had showers. They were more spacious than the rooms in the other community we saw. They had kitchenettes. The only thing I didn't appreciate was that the staff seemed to take liberties of going into residents' apartments when they weren't there to show us and without asking their permission first. I didn't feel comfortable with that. The dining setup seemed a little sterile. It wasn't much of a restaurant dining feel and was more of a cafeteria feel to the décor. They have a podiatrist, a hair salon, and activities room. We saw all the amenities that he pointed out to us. Their website also listed them all as well, so we had a lot of information before we got there.

My mom is now in Legacy at Maiden Park and the overall experience is good. My mother's having a tough time there, she doesn't want to be there which I'm sure is common. But as far as the community, everyone's nice and the care has been great. Their room or apartment is nice, it's suitable, and everything's going great so far. The food is pretty good and they haven't complained about it. The place is clean so the upkeep is fine. They send a schedule out every day of things that they do. Like on Friday she can get her hair cut and they do pedicures, yesterday they did sing-alongs and they have a puzzle room. So there's a lot there to keep them busy.

The Legacy at Maiden Park was all brand new and gorgeous. It was only open for five days when we got there, and all the activities were still being set up. Everything was new, and as far as the community itself, it was beautiful. The rooms were big, spacious, and beautiful. The dining area was very nice and spacious. The staff was very helpful and very sincere. They were trying to figure out how to get my dad in there with the level of care that he needed, but it came down that he just couldn’t afford it.

Look elsewhere!! Unfriendly. Some of aides have bad attitudes. We had to forbid one from going into my dads and stepdads room because of attitude. Very bad communication between staff. Nurses who ask aides on how to dispense medicine and who get whats. No return calls from nurse. There is more pressure on the family on the care of the loved ones. It is harder taking care of our parents than when they were living in their apartments!! We are very overwhelmed. We are thinking of moving them in the spring. Food is not good. Most of time overcooked. Always say they have run out of favorite things. We have asked them to just show my dad how to put on the mask for his cpap. They say it has to be family. WHAT? What the hell is assisted living for. The only bright spot is the Director. She will listen to you and understand. BUT nothing changes. I am so tired of it. My parents care is suffering.

Legacy at Maiden Lane was a new, clean place, but there weren’t very many people there. It was very nice, but it didn’t excite me. Nothing against the place, but it wasn’t that friendly. I didn’t see any activities. I saw the dining area, but nobody was there at the time. There was a hair salon and a recreational room. I didn’t see many residents and I didn’t meet any of the staff other than the lady who gave me the tour.
