This Facility is the best ive even experienced, im always able to reach someone in the facility (i usually speak to the concierge) the rooms are always kept tidy ( so is the rest of the building) the staff are always nice and accommodating, the building here has a team that makes sure each and every resident is not left behind and is cared for.

My mother was in a nursing home called Throgs Neck Extended Care Facility. She was there for four years, and I took her out during the pandemic. They just don't have enough people working there to care for these people, but they did the best they can. It's small. They had very little activities when I was there, but now they're probably changing. The food was just OK, but they had good medical care. They had good nurses and doctor that took care of the people. They were very good. We were very grateful for the ones we had. They kept the room very clean. We were able to pick the food that she liked. They just had rehab and meals. They did a lot of arts and crafts, bingo and stuff like that. They just need more staff. They don't have enough staff there. The bathing area was very bad. They only had one shower room on each side of the floor of 20 people. She had Medicaid.

All of my experiences at this facility was horrible in services for me. The security and staff are very rude and when I went in my relatives room there was dust everywhere. Now they make us visit outside so I wouldn’t know how the room looks now but it’s definitely a concern. I truly want the best for my beloved family member and all of the other members there. I’m willing to do whatever is needed even writing our Mayor for better results for our beloved family members if necessary.

The facility has recently undergone a slight makeover, with new furnishings and wallpaper. The best thing about the facility is the hard working staff. Specifically, the overworked nurses and nursing attendants. I was there during COVID restrictions, so there were no amenities or activities. There were SEVERAL problems during my stay. They failed to consistently provide for my primary concerns - wound care and IV medication. These failures prompted me to facilitate a 4 weeks early self-discharge.

This facility is terrible. The care is less than par and they are negligent. They missed several apts for my family member to see an outside dr. When I asked to have him sent to the hospital for pneumonia, they said there is nothing the hospital could do that they couldn't. I am trying to get him transferred but they make it very difficult., They are only interested in the $$ they get for the patients. Now, not being able to visit makes it even worse because you cannot see for yourself how they are doing. I have threatened legal action. Do not choose this facility for yourself or your loved ones.

After having spinal surgery (fusion C3 & C4) I was admitted into Throggs Neck Rehabilitation. And was there for 2 solid weeks going thru Physical Therapy and learning what I needed to do to get back in good form... All the PT people were great! Everyone was friendly and understood what I was going thru and really made me feel like i was going to get thru this... as you would expect it was ruff but most days i didn't might going downstair to do it, most days i even looked forward to it. The second floor nursing staff were great as well and took excellent care of me everyday that I was there. Even in the very late night hours over all a really good place. Thanks for all your help.

This is a place worth choosing for your family members. Some of the things I can share is that they have caring and compassionate staff that goes the extra mile for me. The place is super clean and everyone is willing to help you. The rehab staff goes above and beyond to allow me to reach my goals.

Would not recommend this facility as a rehabilitation center and certainly not for permanent residency. My mom regressed while here and the staff are very uncaring, from the CNA to the social workers. The only positive is the rehabilitation Occupational Therapy staff but not worth having a loved one stay at this facility. PLEASE find another facility. Would give ZERO stars but this website did not allow me to.

My grandmother was a resident of this facility for almost two years. The facility was clean and well kept inside and out, however, the staff was not very friendly and treated residents like hospital patients rather than assisted living residents. In a setting like this, I wanted to feel a bit connected to the staff and have them treat my grandmother with a bit more compassion and caring rather than if she was just another one of their cases. I didn't like that they were insensitive to the fact that she wanted to spend time with her great-grand children. Overall, I would say that the facility provides good enough care. I would want above average care for my elderly loved ones and would not use this facility again in the future.
