My brother and I saw Garito Manor two years ago. I liked it, and I wanted him to move there. It was independent, and I was looking for a little assistance, too, because I wanted to get some help for him. He's diabetic, and I was concerned about his diet. Also, he needed a little housekeeping help. We liked the place; it's perfect, it's not far, and it was easy for us to get to. I took him there two years ago, and we managed to speak to somebody. It was very nice, and the room we looked at was very nice. It had a nice-size living room, and a very nice little kitchenette area. He could put a queen-size bed in the bedroom, and the bathroom was handicap accessible and had a walk-in shower, a nice vanity, and a toilet. They also showed us the huge closet. It was very bright; sunlight was coming in all over. I was just very impressed. The staff was very nice and very accommodating. They took the time to explain things to us. They said they would give him food as a diabetic. He could go to the dining room for lunch and dinner, and that's what I also liked about it. They had a little courtyard with trees and flowers. They had a little TV room, and they had arts and crafts. If the residents wanted to go somewhere, they took them. They also had outings, which is good. They do programs with them, too. They weren't living in a box with just a toilet and a bathroom. He can take his own bed and TV, and that's what I liked, too -- you could make it a home. It was also very clean and very pleasant.

My mother will be moving into Garito Manor. It's a 102 people unit, and she has a studio. Everything's nice, clean, and very quiet from what I see. Because of the virus, there's nothing really going on. Everything's on hold, but that's how it is now. She'll be safe in there. Security is very good. I've got no complaints about it so far. The staff is nice. The woman who interviewed me and showed me around was very nice. Mom gets two meals a day, she gets cleaning services once a week, and there's laundry on the lower level that she could do on her own. One of the reasons why I chose it is because it's eight minutes away from me, so I could go see her all the time. I like the location and the price. Everything's good so far. The staff couldn't take me around as much because of the virus. You can't be around people. It was very quiet and I hardly saw anybody because everybody's in their apartments. They're very strict in there, which is understandable, and I respect that. You got to have your mask constantly and stay the distance. Everybody's got to be safe.

We visited Garito Manor. The place is fine, but we didn't like the location. It was clean and homey, and nothing was wrong with it. The people we met there are all nice. They have amenities like a gym, which is what we were looking for.

Garito Manor was more geared towards independent living. The area seemed nice. They had facilities for seniors to exercise, and walk around, as well as art areas and gardening, which occupies their time. They also provide classes which always kept them entertained. The food was very good. The staff is very hospitable and very good. I'd recommend the place.

You need to be aware that services are extremely expensive and not worth the money. The food is precooked elsewhere and heated on site. Not good quality .

The staff at Garito Manor was professional. The rooms were small but nice. They didn’t offer transportation, but they had in-house activities. I checked the dining area, and it seemed fine, but I was not able to try the food.

Garitio Manor was really nice. It was too large and there were too many residents. I was concerned that my ex-husband would get lost in there. The staff was very nice. They took us on a tour. But it felt like being in a hotel.
