Elison Independent Living of Orchard Glen was great. I was very impressed. The rooms were quite lovely as far as the maintenance and the cleanliness. I felt that they were small, but that's just my perception. I was looking more to moving into one of the larger cottages. The only negative part of the tour was that I was not able to see the inside of a cottage or even do a virtual tour with pictures, but the model apartment that they showed was quite nice.
The chef had two jars for me, one was a jar of soup and one was a dessert and they had just made fresh cookies. They presented those to me when I walked in the door. I went back into the dining area and it smelled good.
I was really impressed with the areas that they had for common rooms as far as the library. They have a little outside patio area with a pond that looked pretty, and probably looked even better in the summertime than in the winter. I was amazed at the number of activities that they scheduled every day. I also was impressed because they had a wall that honored their veterans and I'm a veteran. The staff during the tour was very welcoming and personable and a lot of people came up and talked to me as soon as I walked in the door.
I was impressed with the cleanliness and it smelled good. It didn't smell like an old people's home. There was a lot of light through the windows and everything looked like it was well-maintained.

I liked the Elison Independent Living of Orchard Glen better than the other facility, but it was just too far out for my mother. They have lots of activities for their people. It was a very pleasant setting. They were encouraged to have a positive atmosphere. They had two-bedroom apartments, and the bonus for them was that they had bathtubs. They had a manmade lake, which was very pretty. The staff members were very enthusiastic.

We found Elison Independent Living of Orchard Glen. We're paying for it in April. It's the homiest and most attractive of the three that we looked at. We liked the size of it, the width of the corridors, plus the furnishings and the homey atmosphere and appearance. We haven't questioned much of the activities, we have our own activities, and we're assuming that they have bridge players. We met three lovely ladies at lunch. We had one meal there, and it was good. It looked very clean and well maintained.

I went and I thought they were very nice. I have a couple of friends there, and they are very happy where they are. It's just not for me, that's all. The meal plans are good, and the meals are very good. Everything is apparently designed for them. The rooms are very luxurious, very nicely appointed, and one of my friends had repainted the whole suite that she was going to be in, and she can choose the color of the paint. The staff seemed very caring. The facilities are very convenient for the people that are there, there are elevators when they need them, and they're fine. They play Bridge there, they have a lot of activities that they go to, they have a shuttle bus, which is very nice, and they can get to different things going on in the city.

It is a very nice independent living facility. We really like it. The staff members were all very nice. They showed us around and answered all our questions. They did a great job. With independent living, you have all your meals provided for you. Everything is clean. The people who are living there looked very friendly and happy. It would be a good place to go.

It was amazing. The staff was obliging, friendly, and did everything they could to make us feel welcome. They had a restaurant-style dining, clean apartments, very friendly staff, and many activities.
