Nancy McDermot Farrell This facility should be called Absolut Dump. The first floor where offices are located is nice. No nasty smells, floors are clean. However as soon as you exit the elevator on the second floor the smell of urine hits you right in the face. I was told that's because someone had an accident. That is not true. A lot of people had accidents and the floors were not properly cleaned. The stench of urine is so bad it actually is in the rooms of patients who do not have a problem with incontinence. The floors in the hallway and patient rooms are filthy. Paint is peeling off the walls. Patients are not given privacy when treated by the nurses. Doors to patient's rooms are kept wide open while nurses are undress or change patients. This place should be closed down.

My father resided here fron Dec 2015 to Spring 2017. The care in the rehab section was better than the long term care section. I would visit four times a week and find him unshaven, nails not trimmed. I requested twice weekly showers and they did not comply. I routinely had to help other patients because they were so short staffed. Some of the aides were downright callous in their treatment of the patients, for example bumping their feet on the wall when moving them into the elevator and not saying sorry. Another example is leaving them waiting for the elevator on the first floor in front of the front door letting in the cold winter air. My complaints fell on deaf ears. Activity staff is great, food above average.

My father had been in Waters of Aurora (Absolut Care) for rehab for a couple of weeks. I also had another friend who went in there and she was at the end stage of cancer. I had been there and it was awful. I thought they gave training to the people they hired, but I don't think they had enough nurses. The people I knew that had also been there were very unhappy and they said the food was awful. I thought the management needed to be more involved. They needed to be hands on because they were not.
