I recently visited Amberleigh and met with Joy. We talked quite a while and it was nice to have her get to know me and what my needs were in regards to my mom. She was very thorough and went over all my options. Very positive and enjoyable visit.

We visited The Amberleigh. Everybody was friendly and the atmosphere was great. The apartment we looked at for my dad was great. I really liked the apartment, because they even had a porch that you can go out of and sit on. The first time we went there, it was just my brother and me. We went to look at it and one of the workers, Elaine, I think was her name, she took us all through the whole building. Then we went into the assisted living and showed us an apartment. The second time we went, one of the residents took us through the assisted living, and my father was with us. He liked it very much, but he said he got too much going on right now with the veterans. They gave us a copy of the menu and it looked like a very good setup. Anybody coming in to visit can also eat with the people that they're visiting. All they got to do is let them know ahead of time that they're coming. I thought that was great. There's all kinds of activities and entertainment and stuff, which is great. That's what they need to keep busy. My father has an eye problem and was considered legally blind, so it's hard for him to do stuff. But they said they would have people there that would work with and do the stuff with them so that he could do some of the activities anyway. They have a nice-looking dining room.

The Amberleigh was fantastic. I'd recommend it to anybody if you have the money. It was beautiful. The residents looked happy. It was clean. The staff was friendly and nice. They were amazing. They have a library, a social room, a TV room, and a place where you can watch movies. There was plenty to do for the seniors.

I did a tour of The Amberleigh; I did not like it personally. I just found it to be very institutional. I was looking for more of an outdoor area and also country settings, and it did not have that. They were clean and have nice-sized rooms. Overall, not that it was bad, it just wasn't what I was looking for, for my mother. The staff were nice. In terms of activities, they have the usual stuff, painting, and crafts, bingo and things like that, and exercises.

Recently we had to make the tough decision that our mother can no longer safely live in her home by herself. The transition into a senior living facility was worrisome to all of us. “Joy” welcomed us with open arms on our tour with mom. She took the time to answer our many questions we had, and was extremely patient with us. The staff was very welcoming, and friendly. Mom once even said on the tour “everyone is so nice here”. The food Looked top notch comparing to the other places we visited… that looked like cafeteria style. Our family feels at ease knowing she’s moving into a place that she’s happy with and safe.

I felt like The Amberleigh was more of a nursing home for more deteriorated adults. The halls were long and dark, which I thought was kind of odd for elderly people because they would have to walk down these long halls. I thought the layout was not conducive to somebody that is elderly walking slowly. The room was fair, but the layout needed updating. There was minimal storage and closets and I thought that was not good at all. The staff during the tour was fine. She was the best of all the things that were there. She was friendly, helpful, answered all my questions, knowledgeable, and pleasant. I was just put off by the atmosphere. It had an old rundown nursing home vibe. Everything needs to be updated.

My friend is at The Amberleigh. It's a safe environment. It provides most of her needs. Her life, I think, has been elongated because of her stay there. Those are the main reasons I like it. She has a very nice apartment. She pays a premium for it, but she is in a two-bedroom. She has a nice window view and not every apartment has that. There are only so many that can get that view. It was refreshed before she got it in there. The facility is nice and pleasant. Upkeep could be better; however, I don't blame the staff, I think they're just shorthanded. The staff is attentive, they know my friend, and they work hard. Lately, their food has been excellent. They have a beauty salon, lounges, and activity room with weightlifting things like that. They have an outdoor gazebo, and they have a computer room, but she doesn't use them.

We're very interested in The Amberleigh, and my mom wants it. I'm just going back today for her to look at it because I looked at it, and now she's going to look at it, but I believe we're going to take that one. We just walked through it. We saw the room, we saw where she would eat, and all the different parts of the tour. We saw everywhere where she would go. Then we sat down, and we talked about any questions about different things and what we have to do. The staff was extremely personable, very nice, very accommodating, and very pleasant. She answered all my questions. She did everything she was supposed to. She was just good; she was very kind. The tour was good. I left there feeling that it was a good place for my mom. I told the staff what we wanted, but they didn't have studios available. They just had the apartment and that was fine. We looked at a one-bedroom, which was available, and that was a really good size. I thought it was good for the price. She mentioned the food and the dining room. She showed me a room where if my mom had people over, she could use this private room for clubs, special dinners, or something like that. Even though it wasn't my mom's section (she would be in assisted living), she showed me where the other parts of the building were used like the independent living and the memory care. They're in the same building but they're all separate.

I like the fact that The Amberleigh had a little outside patio in the rooms, where you can go outside. The ground floor had places to sit, with birdfeeders. When we pulled up, we already commented that it looks like it's going to be very expensive, but it was not. It was very competitive with the other ones. And they offer more of an ala carte menu of what you needed, instead of the all-inclusive with stuff you don't need. It was nice with a very beautiful entryway sitting room, people were playing board games, and there's a beautiful fireplace. It was nice because it was a chilly evening and the place was very welcoming. They also have a salon in-house.

The Amberleigh has assisted living where you can transition into memory care. It's one of the two top places that I looked at in Buffalo. The lady was amazing. The only reason I would go with the other place over The Amberleigh is for financial reasons. Amberleigh is private pay only. They had transportation services. The staff, the building, everything was right up there at the 5 level. It seemed a little bit bigger and seemed to accommodate more people. I didn't try the food there. As far as services, staff, and living quarters, they were 5's. They had an activities calendar, and they get them out twice a week to go shopping to stores around the area, which I thought was really nice. They had medical services onsite once a month. They had an inhouse doctor, which I thought was cool. They had a gift shop, a movie room, and an activity room.

I liked how The Amberleigh in Williamsville is family-oriented. They have nice apartments, I saw a 2-bedroom apartment during my visit. I toured the assisted living and I like the way they run things over there. They're nice and friendly and they try to make everybody feel comfortable. The dining room was nice and they had tablecloths on the tables.

I visited The Amberleigh Assisted Living, a great facility, very clean, and the people are very nice. The rooms were fine. The only issue we have is they don't have any assisted living units available right now, and we have a short window to find a place for my mother. They were very accommodating. They were doing a lot of recreational activities, they were outside, they were doing a lot of good stuff. The dining area was great, the food looked very good.

We like The Amberleigh very much. So far, we're leaning towards it, but we wanted to look at a few more things for comparison. We looked at something that was available and it was nice and clean. It didn't have an overwhelming smell of 'not clean' and I like that. I didn't really have a lot of communication and we didn't hang out and visit with the staff, but from what we could see, it was a nice facility. The place itself doesn't sit on a corner and it's not very close to the street, so if someone did find a way to leave the building, they have a long way to go before they actually arrive on the street and get hurt.

I visited The Amberleigh in Williamsville. It was excellent and everything was topnotch. I was able to see the dining area and the room that my dad is going into. It blew my mind away. I was very impressed with it. He will have a separate bedroom, his own bathroom with a shower, a living room with a balcony and a little kitchenette. It's all very nice. I would give the staff that accommodated me the best rating, too. Overall, it was above and beyond what I expected. It's very impressive.

The Amberleigh was within our budget. The experience was OK. The person we had an appointment with was not there, and the person who was covering for her didn't even know who we were. It was kind of a rushed tour. The place was so large. It had multiple floors and an elevator, but I was looking for a more intimate setting for Dad. There were four apartments with a kitchen, a bathroom, and a separate bedroom. The rooms were excellent. I have checked the assisted living and memory care. They had very little of activities. I did get to eat a meal there, which was nice.

So my grandmother has been a resident at Amberleigh for over two years now, and she is always telling me how much she loves it there. She always tells me about her friends, all of the activities they do, and even how wonderful her hairdresser Lisa is (They have a hair salon right off the Lobby). So After finally visiting her today I can see why she likes it so much. It was my first time in the facility ( I am on the West Coast and don't get home very often) and I have to say the place is quite impressive. Today the staff brought in a local elementary school for a holiday band/chorus concert which I thought was pretty cool. My grandmother and her friends were very happy, which was evident by the smiles all around. After the concert was over we went in to have lunch. Even I was impressed with the food, the atmosphere, and the friendly server. I am a very picky eater, and they even made me a grilled cheese and french fries! Every single staff member that I encountered today was overly friendly, and I also thought it was pretty cool how I saw their Director walking around talking with the residents a few times throughout he day. According to my Grandmother, the new Director (or Administrator, or whatever they call him) is pretty new to Amberleigh and she really likes this guy. She says he reminds her of me, so he must be a pretty good guy. All jokes aside, I am very happy that my grandmother is living in a place like this, it was nothing like I thought it would be. I would say if you need to have a loved one live somewhere like this, check this place out. I never leave reviews for anything, but I felt obligated after seeing how great they are treating my grandmother.

The Amberleigh has a room with some different equipment in it, like a hydro bath where you could transfer from your wheelchair into it, and water jets help your legs for circulation. The location was perfect. They were getting ready for a Bill's game when I visited; everybody was up for that and they had decorations, so it was a very nice atmosphere. The person who gave us the tour was very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had, so she was an excellent representative for their facility.

The amenities at The Amberleigh were very good. They had a physical therapy room and dining area. I was told they had transportation for the residents, and I saw the list of activities.

I visited a friend of mine at The Amberleigh, and it is a very nice place. I would not mind living there, as well. Her apartment is lovely and very spacious. I have tried their food a couple of times, and it is very good. The people I know who live there are extremely happy.
