My sister just recently moved into Mount View Assisted Living. It has multiple floors and two separate dining areas. One was more like for bigger meals and had a restaurant feel to it, and then they have another that is just a general dining area. So, it gives the residents a couple of different options. In the restaurant area, it's more like a restaurant menu-style, and the other area is like a common area, so they have oatmeals, cereals, sandwiches, and pretty much every day breakfast and general things.
They do have activities, not as many right now during COVID, but they do have things to keep them active. There's a group that does different things daily, and then they let people get involved as much as they can, but the rooms are more of a one-bedroom. It's like one big room with a closet and a separate bathroom. Then they have laundry services too.

My sister-in-law moved into Mount View Assisted Living because she liked it. The building is drab, and the rooms are very small, but the staff is friendly and good. The activities listed are good, but I feel the towel, sheet, and blankets are inferior. I was disappointed that she has to share a bathroom, and the door to the room is extremely heavy, so its hard for her to get in and out.

The administration of medication is very concerning here. The residents have to line up in a hall to get their meds if they did not get them handed to them in the dining locations. No proper follow through to make sure the resident actually takes them. Very small staff managing 150 residents' medications. There are multiple reports on DOH site of Medication Mismanagement Citations. As a relative, once they started receiving my check, the administration was very unresponsive to family (email or voicemail not returned) unless they had an issue they wanted addressed by the family. Then they wanted immediate response. They have a great sales pitch, but I warn "Buyer Beware". Aides and receptionists were excellent.

Mount View's rooms were private and well-kept. The staff was more hands-off. The dining area was very nice, like a '50s diner, and they had a nice garden with a gazebo. It was an old hospital, but it was well-maintained.

We chose Mount View for my parents because they actually tried to get the residents engaged through mental and physical activities. It seemed to be a better fit. They make them do 4 activities a week, they have club activities where they can make up their own clubs, and they have bucket list activities where the residents dream outside the box and talk about what they wanted to do. They take them on plane rides, boat trips, racing tracks, fishing, and the owner is trying to work something out for two of the residents who wanted to go hunting. They've been there for 2 weeks and the people who work there have been OK so far.
