nurses never arrived on time. Pain killers were delayed increasing my mothers agony (there was 9 hour delay so that my mother died in pain. There attitude that was that she was not sentient and pushed the blame on the family for not keeping her in the hospital or sending her to their hospice.

Calvary Hospital, located in Brooklyn, New York, goes a long way in providing not only assisted living, but QUALITY assisted living. This particular branch focuses on people whom are diagnosed with terminal disease, and require end of life care. The facility itself is well lit, clean, and constantly staffed by well over a dozen nurses. Patients are warmly greeted by a optimistic, warm hearted staff which thoroughly cater to every patients needs, day in and day out, with an almost never ending smile on their faces. It seemed to be always well stocked in terms of basic essentials, such as food, cleaning equipment, and various others areas such as reading material. Patients are always given a variety of menus and options in terms of food, as well as more medical areas such as painkillers, anesthetics, etc. Patients are also given spiritual support when requested, and the spiritual staff themselves seem to bring immense comfort to those whom need it. Facilities such as bathrooms and beds are constantly kept clean, and up to date. Bathrooms, for examples, are equipped with a pulling mechanism which allows for a patient to signal for help in case of an accident, and beds are equipped with a button with which a patient or visitor can signal for a nurse. At times, the facility itself can seem slightly understaffed, with nurses catering to as many people as they can. Otherwise, Calvary hospital seemed to be a very positive experience.
