Batavia Nursing Home is nice and all that, but things disappear. He had $100 and it has disappeared; it's no longer in his possession. The staff is friendly and they seemed considerate. The room is nice; he shares it with another gentleman. It's really nice and clean.

Although my grandmother did not seem distressed there, they were not properly checking her sugar. At one point in time she went into a diabetic coma, and the hospital alerted us that her sugar was over 500. They never seemed properly staffed. I did like that they had a therapy dog, my grandmother really enjoyed this practice. They also had volunteers come and give her manicures and do her hair, which she also appreciated (as did I and the rest of my family). I heard about many recreation activities they had there, however was not pleased with the amount of recreation my grandmother was receiving. Every time we visited, she seemed to always be in bed. They seemed short staffed on both CNAs and nurses. On a positive note, I feel as though the few staff members that were present were truly caring individuals, who were compassionate about their jobs and patients.
