I was a long time resident but, forced to move because rent increases totaling over $100 per month. Current management increased rents to the maximum allowed by Nevada Housing Authority. New labor, material and miscellaneous charges were initiated. Interaction with the residents is non existent. This used to be a nice place to live before the new management took over.

This apt complex is WAY overpriced. No washer/dryer in small units, no patio or balcony, old carpet, rent raises every 6 months, lots of vacant apts now because so many have moved out, used to be a nice place, not any more. The Two new managers are not even polite to residents. This place is actually managed by a company in Roseville, California. No one knows who the owners are, whoever they are they sure don't care about seniors. Many have recently been forced out due to high rent that will keep going higher. They lie to you about how high it can go, so be careful.

Vintage hills is inexpensive, in the beginning but the raises in rent become higher and higher. You pay for batteries and light bulbs, things that use to be replaced without a fee. The shuttle service which use to be everyday is now down to 3 times a week. Online it says this property should be gated, it is not and so you could run into homeless sleeping anywhere in the buildings. The apartments have air conditioning, how nice, but it doesn't work very good. Bring your own fan and one for each room. Also it is smoking only in your apartment, but expect second hand smoke in the halls. The management team if you have to deal with them, their favorite saying, Can't help you or that can happen, But no help with the problems. I would look some place else if I was you. I did and found reasonable rent, patio and washer and dryer in the apartment.

I have lived at Vintage Hills for 10 years. The current management team stays in their offices and do not mingle with the tenants. They seem preoccupied with devising ways to get the tenants to pay for simple maintenance needs such as smoke detector batteries, florescent light replacement and raising the rent.

The location of the facility is in a quiet area of Reno, close to several good stores. The residents all seem nice. They do not staff the office during the weekend. We have had difficulty getting them to repair/replace non-working equipment, such as the air conditioner during the heat of the summer. They seem to avoid scheduling service appointments during the weekend. I assume this is a cost saving measure; however, for some seniors, sitting in a 90 degree apartment all weekend waiting for the AC repairman to come on Monday is just not reasonable.

Vintage Hills is a nice place. You have to be at a certain income level because it's state-assisted. It's very clean, and they have great transportation. Every single day they have a bus that takes the residents to the library or to doctor's appointments. That's one thing we really like about the place. They also have a pretty active clubhouse. They have activities and games going every single day except for the weekends. All of the doors are like inside a hallway so when it gets colder they can get around to the laundry and all the facilities and so forth in their building without having to go out. I would absolutely recommend them to others. It's in a great location, too. It's really close to a lot of stuff, like Kohl's, Walmart, and library.

I saw Vintage Hills about three years ago. I like that the staff was very friendly. The location is excellent because it was right across the street from Walmart, Save Mart, and a dollar store. The thing also that I liked about this facility is that they were not that keen if I had a cat if I would live there.
