The Willows at Whitaker Park had stairs, which might be good for someone who's not disabled with their legs or in their back, but not for us. You have to be able to climb the stairs if you want to stay there. If only they had one of those seats for people to go up and down the stairs, that might have helped. Besides that, it seemed nice. The kitchen was nice. The people that were running it seemed very nice, and the residents seemed like they were happy. I just didn't like the stairs part.

I liked my tour at The Willows at Whitaker Park. It seemed pretty nice, and the level of care and everything looked great. The building's a little bit older and was retrofitted, and they didn't have an elevator, so the people living upstairs have to be able to walk. But other than that, it seems pretty nice and the food was pretty good. The upkeep and cleanliness were pretty good. The only thing I was worried about is that the outdoor decking was a little bit difficult to navigate with the walker, it's pretty bumpy. Other than that, it's great.

If my mother-in-law did not need so much care, The Willows at Whitaker Park would've been a good fit for her, but she was wheelchair-bound. For somebody who's able-bodied and able to kind of navigate things a little easier, it would've been a good home. The nurses seemed very caring. The place was clean. The residents that we saw seemed happy. It's a two-story house. They had a private suite upstairs, and there were three bedrooms downstairs and three residents to a room. It's a neat little house.

In my little experience, I have been in two previous care homes, and by far the willows is the best. Their loving care, their great food, and their cleanliness is above average.
