This facility is beautiful and well set up for rehabilitation. During working hours the nursing dept. Is good. The rehabilation dept. is well equipted. The staff is knowledgeable, pleasant, thoughtful. I expected more of a chiropractic type of approach, not anywhere close. General staff is horrible. They lye and care in no way concerned with your needs or any doctors orders. Your medication scheduling is non existant. You have to wait till they want to bring it to you with no consideration as to doctors orders or your needs. Food is adequate but not what you ordered and always missing something like silverware, butter, salt, pepper, straws. They pay no attention to necessary details.

My mother is in Advanced Health Care in Summerlin. It's a rehab facility, and she's not really happy there, and she's not doing great. It's supposed to be a really good place, but my mom can't get out of bed, can't reach for things, and she's very weak, so she's really dependent on the CNAs to come in and do stuff for her, and sometimes she has to wait a long time. It's just a very unfortunate situation. I can call her and see her through the window. The rooms are very nice. There's a microwave and a little refrigerator, a big TV, and a table. Most of the people right now are confined to their rooms because of COVID. Nobody can go to the dining room, so you're basically stuck in your room. The staff for the most part has been helpful.
My mom said the food is outstanding. She said that's the best part of the place. There's nothing happening here because of COVID, but typically they have activities. It's a nice looking facility, and the rooms look nice. I only see her room in the hallway and there definitely is a big dining room. I just see that through the window. It's nestled in an area, which is Las Vegas West Medical Park, and it's right by MountainView Hospital, so the setting is nice. There's a front area for people to come outside, but no other areas that you can visit. It's a small facility and the parking lot is well manicured.
If you call on the telephone a lot of times you get the voicemail and you have to hit operator to get somebody to talk to and hit operator again, so it's a little difficult to get through. I find that to be frustrating. I call at night, and I could be on the phone for five minutes just hitting 0. My mom can't manipulate her hands and if the phone isn't right near her, she can't get it, so I have to call the front desk, tell them to send somebody down to her room and help her pick up the phone, and that seems to take a while. She rolled out of bed twice since she's been there, and they don't have anybody that can watch her more carefully. I told them the day that we got her in there that she was trying to get out of her bed in the hospital a couple of times, but they don't offer any extra help. They give you a lot of food and it's fresh, and she said it's really good, so that's a big plus.

Perhaps because of the COVID virus they are less than expected but I found (having been a patient/resident)) that a majority of the staff were uneducated and poorly trained for their job. Some could barely speak or understand English.
The food was almost inedible. Food was burned, some out of a can and poorly prepared. Food was actually better in the hospital.

This rehab center is the finest Las Vegas has to offer!! My sister was in a terrible rehab center for less than 24 hours and we knew we had to get her out of there. AHC of S scheduled a pickup to rescue her from the "prison infirmary" where the level of care was substandard. I knew the minute we set foot in AHC's facility that it was the one for us. AHC's facility is clean and updated (only a couple of years old), it smells clean and refreshing, not like a hospital or most rehabs, the dining room and food are like a 4-star restaurant, and the patient rooms rival any 4-star hotel I've ever stayed in. You wouldn't believe the bathroom which had towels folded and displayed the same way that major hotels display theirs (unlike the other facility which didn't offer any towels)! Staff and nurses are better than any hospital or rehab we've ever been in. They are sweet and friendly, not arrogant, rude, or pushy like so many staff members in other rehab facilities that act like you are a burden and bothering them. AHC's staff also come within minutes when summoned. Oh, and the TVs in the rooms are huge, not these tiny things that you usually see in rehab rooms. Best of all, Travis and Brawnsi (admissions) gave us their cell phone numbers to call them day or night to ensure that all of our expectations were met. I could go on all day about AHC of Summerlin, but I'll conclude by saying that between my mom's, sister's, and best friend's many stays in rehab facilities, this will be the only facility I will let them stay in.

My husband has been in Advanced Health Care of Summerlin off and on for a couple of months. It's a wonderful facility. It's like a luxury hotel and all the rooms are private. They are very skilled. The food is great. They give him physical therapy everyday except for weekends, and he also gets occupational and speech therapy. He's in his own room in a regular bed.
