My mom stayed at Bear Canyon Rehabilitation Center. If they don't have insurance, it's very expensive. But they're an adequate facility. They get things done. First of all, when they admit an individual, they're placed in a room down a certain hallway. They have 6 different hallways with rooms on both sides. There's one hallway that they put the short-term residents in and they're analyzing the medication that they newly prescribed. And then if you want to stay there or if the individual is inadequate to go home on their own, it gets quite expensive at that point. The staff is good. They have pretty decent staff there. It seems like they're a little overwhelmed at times, but they do their job. They're taking care of their residents. They're very interactive. The bedding didn't get changed as often as we thought it should be. They just have like one community shower there that has a high ceiling. My mom was kind of cold there, so she didn't like to shower in there, but she had to. The food wasn't all that great. It kind of looks like it's always frozen food that they just warm up. They have activities where they can interact with each other. They have a library and a gathering room. I noticed they were crocheting and knitting. They have a big room in the middle, right when you walk in, where a lot of the residents hang out and just talk.

My uncle was at Bear Canyon Rehabilitation Center, and I feel like his health declined over there. I'm not pleased. He went in sort of walking, and he came out practically wheelchair bound. Although the staff is friendly and nice, I don't know if he got the attention that he needed there. They either need to pick up on their staffing or get some better therapists. He was there for several weeks and came out worse than when he came in. The clerical staff was very nice, friendly, and helpful, so they're a five, but the physical-therapy staff is a two.
