About This Community

Care-One at Morris of Parsippany offers a unique campus model that includes assisted living, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing all on our property, thus allowing residents to truly age in place! We also have 2 memory care neighborhoods - one for beginning and mid stages of Alzheimer's/Dementia and the other for the end stages of the disease. We are very unique in this concept but feel this is crucial as there is a vast difference between both stages, and these programs pay close attention to the different needs of our residents.

Residents enjoy:

  • Three meals a day in a dining room setting and healthy snacks, our dinning room is open all day!
  • 7 days of exercise classes, activities, live entertainment and bus trips (NYC, Jersey shore) and scenic rides
  • Regular family nights, Casino Nights, Themed parties etc.
  • Housekeeping and laundry Included

My mother moved into CareOne at Morris for respite care. She's been there for one week. We're extending it, and we're going to see if she likes it. She's not signed up permanently yet. It's been excellent. I like the facility. I like all the upgrades, the living space, the food, and the people. The head person was very accommodating, nice, and friendly. Cleanliness is great. Right now, she is in a shared room, so she has a roommate. We're looking into other rooms that are available, but she's in respite now. It's only a two-week commitment until we decide. There's plenty of activities throughout the day. There are three hot meals in the main dining room. They are served with a waitress, and there's a chef. They get multiple choices each day of hot meals. They have cloth napkins with the utensils wrapped in them. It's very nice. The staff is excellent. They're all expensive, but value for the money is good.

My mother will be moving into CareOne at Morris assisted living. We already started moving some of her things in. They had wonderful personnel. The person we worked with was very accommodating. They were recently renovated, so the facility was updated as well as they were offering promotions due to the renovation. They had financial promotions, a renovated facility, wonderful staff, and the location was key. The location is two minutes from my work office, so it'll be very convenient for me to visit mom. Her apartment has a living area and bedroom area. They have a studio, one-bedroom, and one-bedroom deluxe. They had the standard levels of care, dining room, activities, movie theater, outside patio areas, and rehab onsite. They have an intensive rehab facility next door and 24-hour nurses. They also have different entertainment that comes in, trips that their residents can go on, bingo, games, crafts, and they offer transport to doctors' appointments within a 10-mile radius.

My mother-in-law is in respite care at CareOne at Morris. It is very positive, it is a great place, and it is also very clean. The food is good, and everybody is super friendly and patient. There are lots of activities going on all the time. They're excellent and they're really good. They have manicure, and they have the standard bingo. They have 'daily digest' every morning, which is really good for my mother-in-law because she has dementia. They also have some coloring. Every third Thursday, it is family night where you get two or three guests. Last month it was Thanksgiving and they had a singer come in. This December 18th it is Christmas celebration for family, which is really nice. They have a lot of activities. They got a menu where they have two choices at each meal, and then they have some standard offerings like spaghetti, hotdogs, hamburgers, salad, tuna salad or egg salad. You can always order ice cream for dessert. There was a time when the kitchen staff literally had cleaned up the entire kitchen, had their coats and hats on, and were saying bye to each other walking out the door, and then this gentleman came in and they're like, 'Howard, dinner ended like an hour ago. You missed dinner,' and he said 'My battery died in my watch.' Then they went back into the kitchen, took off their coats, and made him a dinner and brought it out for him. That's the level of care that we get there. They're very nice. Whenever I go in, they always know where my mother-in-law is at all points in time. They always know where she is, which is amazing.

My mother who is 104 yrs. old has been a permanent resident at CareOne at Morris Assisted Living Facility for over two years. She came in previous years for a few days' respite stays. The entire staff at CareOne Morris ALF is tremendous. They are all amazing people inside and out, with a lot of heart and soul. They are all personable and approachable. Never without something nice to say and a smile. It is so pleasant to come to CareOne Morris ALF no matter when one comes. I cannot name each member of the staff individually, and I do not need to because every single one of them is extraordinary. The nursing staff and caregivers are intelligent, tenacious, and know at all times the status of the residents. Periodically I approach them about something and they immediately connect with the issue at hand. I have full trust and confidence in anything and everything they do. By my standards that is amazing. The kitchen: It is so comforting to see and know how accommodating and cooperative the kitchen staff is. They know each resident's likes and dislikes, habits, and limitations. They are attentive to residents at mealtimes, and serve their meals with he easiest utensils, plates and cups for them to use. They are always there and working so hard for the residents and their families. The entire premises smells very clean and airy, including the rooms, bathrooms and common areas. And they are kept neat and clean. Even their clothes and bedding add to the clean smell. All Morris ALF staff understands each resident's personality, needs and limitations, and is so conforming to them. The staff is truly a gift from God. God bless them. I love the community set up between the two buildings and all sections of CareOne. Residents, families and staff all get to know each other and it creates a family and a campus effect. Activities and entertainment always abound, always something for everyone. I am extremely satisfied with the care my mother has receive this past two+ years. We are very fortunate to have such a facility in our own backyard. I hope my generation will have this standard in the years to come for us.

CareOne at Morris was very nice. The grounds were kept up. One of my co-workers lives there now. I was familiar with it because I visited there a few times. It was gorgeous. The nurse who showed me around and persuaded me to go there gave me insight into the community. She was excellent too. I saw a studio apartment with a private bath. As far as the atmosphere, the room, and the way it looked, they would get a four.

My father has been in CareOne at Morris since the beginning of July. We chose it because it's closer to home. We can see him before we go to work, after we come back from work, and on the weekends. We can take him out and other family members can come and visit. They have three meals. Either we will take him to his doctors or schedule a car service. The staff is attentive. It's a little expensive. They have housekeeping, activities, and meals.

We’re going to hope for CareOne and wait for my mom to mentally say that she’s ready. Their dining area was set up like a restaurant, so it’s good. Their food was institutional food, but their staff seemed a lot better than the other two places she had been in. She was happier there than with the other ones, and we thought she was going to stay, but she decided to come home. They’re nice, clean, well-presented, and somewhat decorated so you won’t feel like you’re living in an institution. They had a lot of things to do. The price was fine. She’s 92, in good health, and has some dementia but she could live there longer than her money as they do have a two-year Medicaid waiver, which is important to us because I don’t want to let her go in, live beyond 100, and get kicked out. That was one of the reasons why we looked into CareOne. At a lot of the other facilities, you pay a lot of money and once you run out of money, it’s like goodbye, find another place to live.

We were directed around by Stephanie at CareOne at Morris, and she took a lot of time explaining the different programs that they had and the levels of care that they had. Everything was very clean, and the people that worked there seemed very friendly. The residents were coming and going in a common area. They were setting up for a friends and family event that they were having. It's beautiful. It just really comes down to finances basically.

My dad is in CareOne at Morris. I like that he adjusts to it OK. The staff is OK. There are some concerns overall, but they have been OK so far. The room is very nice and in perfect size. The food is very good. He is very happy with the food. I think they can improve in the relationship with the families of the residents.

Do not send your family member to this place.. I have had many issues... my father has dementsia and they have said he is combative...in the 8 mos he heen here I have never witnessed aggression...they have sent him out 4 times to hospitals for psychiatric evaluation...all 4times hospitals did not witness aggression...the Care one doctor and psychiatrist can not claim to have personally witnessed any aggressions ...claims from aids... my father likes to walk around and they find it irritating and an effort for them to walk him...I have pictures of injuries one needing 25 stitches also videos showing on multiple ocassions patients in day rooms without any suprivising nurses or aids. This is a poorly rated facility amount their own piers....

Nice place hides poor care. Nurses are aloof. Paints wait long periods of time needing help. Untrained staff. Blew off all my problems and requests. STAY AWAY!

We placed my Grandmother at the CareOne Assisted Living Facility in Parsippany, NJ almost two years ago after my Grandfather passed away. It was a difficult time for my Grandmother, but the staff at CareOne was extremely compassionate and made my Grandmother's transition much easier. While she misses her old house, her apartment at CareOne is perfect for her. It has modern amenities (new kitchen appliance, new bathrooms) and requires minimal maintenance, which my Grandmother can still manage mostly on her own. The staff members are very helpful and are great at recognizing when Grandma need help and when she can be left alone, which Grandma really appreciates. Easily the best part about Brightstar is the common areas, like the cafeteria and multi-purpose room. They are kept in immaculate condition. Grandma also loves to walk the grounds in the spring and fall, as the landscaping is beautiful. With all the positives, my Grandma's one complaint has always been the food. While they offer a variety of options and try to create healthy meals, Grandma rarely likes what is on the menu. Grandma likes to compare the food to hospital food, but I've had a few meals there, and it is definitely higher quality than hospital food. All in all, I don't know what my family would have done if we didn't find CareOne. We toured a lot of facilities and this is the only one Grandma would even consider. It has allowed her to keep her independence but also lets our family feel like she has all the care she needs.

DO NOT send your loved one to this facility. Management cannot control the staff. Lack of attention to resident's care unless you shove their nose in the issue. Administrator does not seem to "Care One" bit.
