About This Community

The Chelsea at Brick offers assisted living and memory care options conveniently located in Brick, New Jersey. We believe that choosing our community should mark a new and exciting beginning of the “Golden Years”. During our daily activities, we help to foster new friendships, awaken past interests, and inspire new ones. We encourage our residents to remain independent by providing bus trips to local shopping centers, trips to the Ocean County Mall, opportunities to dine at local restaurants, and a visit to St. Dominic’s Church every Sunday. We host a monthly bus trip to Atlantic City for those looking to mingle with Lady Luck. When the weather is ideal, we also make several visits to Monmouth Park Racetrack to place our bets and to Brick Park Beach to enjoy the sand between our toes. If your loved one chooses to skip the bus trips and stay in, our activity program provides opportunities for education, with monthly guest speakers, special events that embrace our past, and art classes to keep our creative juices flowing.

My mother loved The Chelsea at Brick, but when she had a fall, she went downhill as far as being able to do things more for herself. She was able to take care of her bathing herself and things like that. I liked it there as well. She had her friends there. She had her own private room with my dad. They're so nice. The workers still call her to see how she is. I think that's very nice that they continue to do that. They're very compassionate. I have nothing bad to say about The Chelsea at all. They were there for about three years. On a holiday like Labor Day, they would have bands come in, they would have a barbecue for the residents, and they all ate in the dining room together. It seemed like the staff was very friendly and helpful. I remember when my dad passed, it was very hard, and they had so much compassion. They were great. The facility was very nice. They had a little hair salon there and an activity room. They would even take a bus trip to Atlantic City or somewhere. They did things with them and they had their own little library and things of that nature. It was nice for her. I feel bad that she had that fall and it just happened that way. She wanted to continue to stay there, but unfortunately, she couldn't.

The Chelsea at Brick is fantastic. My mom lives there and we can schedule visits two times a week to see her. It's a really nice cozy place. It is also clean, pleasant, and decorated nicely. The food is excellent, and the staff is really caring. I'm very happy so far. They will have more activities going forward as the COVID restrictions are lifted. Right now, there's just not too much to do. There is a nice little communal area where they can gather and talk. They're a little expensive, but it's worth it.

The Chelsea at Brick is very nice. I'm mostly in my room because of the virus, so they don't have too much going on yet. The staff is very accommodating and very nice, I've had no problems. We have bingo, though not every week, they take us outside because we're not allowed to go by ourselves, and we sit down in the sun for about an hour or two. About three times a week they take a group down to the dining room to have lunch or supper. The food is OK. I'm not thrilled, but it's OK. The staff is wonderful. The activities are limited at the moment. We can't congregate as a big group together. Like when we go down the dining room to eat, we're separated by five to a table, but we're not close. It's expensive. My room is at over $5,000 a month.

My father was in Chelsea at Brick as temporary resident. I thought the staff was good, but the dining room was way too small for the number of residents. His room was fine, adequate, and clean. The food was terrible; my father said it was horrible, and he asked us to bring him food. It was a very friendly community, it was very convenient, and the activities were wonderful. They had bingo, arts, music, happy hour, movies, and they had a salon. I wouldn't recommend it because of the food.

Chelsea at Brick was near our home. We liked it. They were very nice. It was clean and small with only 70 seniors living there, which made it nicer and able to allow them to be a little closer to each other. The rooms that they had were very nice. The coordinator there was sweetheart and not pushy. She knew where we were coming from and gave us all the paperwork and showed us around. She had us for lunch. It was good experience all the way around. They served three meals a day. Between lunch and dinner, they had like a snack time. Plus, they had a kitchenette in their room with a refrigerator and a microwave if they wanted their own food. It was very nice, and I liked it very much.

We are very happy with Chelsea actually. He is doing very well in there, he really likes it, and everything about it is really nice -- very good. It is spotless, and there is almost nothing that I could say against this place. I am a nurse, so I am very particular, and so is he. He is very alert and very oriented. It is a very nice place.

I visited The Chelsea at Brick. This is the one where it felt more depressing. I was able to walk upstairs and check places. It looked very homey, but it also had this feeling. It was like you just feel that you didn't want to stay there very long, that's how I felt with this place. I didn't like it. I walked in and it just didn't feel right. I wouldn't want my mother there. I talked to the staff and talked to the people, there was just a more depressing feeling and the clienteles seemed more depressed. The clients were like, "It's okay. Yeah, I'll get used to it." I wasn't getting a good feeling that they love it. The rooms seemed adequate though. I brought up the fact that another facility would waive the $1000 entrance fee, and she called the director and they were going to waive that for us too. I didn't eat there but I didn't feel like I wanted to either. It seemed like one big dining hall kind of thing compared to the place where my mother is now. Overall, I just didn't have a good feeling about the place in general and the people in general there. What they could improve on is to create a lighter, happier feeling. It just seemed heavier compared to other places.

I found that Chelsea was very nice with a lot of very nice people, but the rooms were quite small. There were reservations I had about the size. It's right across from some hospitals.

Experience was very positive. Caretakers seemed attentive. Some worries about socialization and ability to go outside/get fresh air/get some different scenery. This is beneficial for seniors and should be mandatory for all but the sickest patients. Heard some fleeting critiques of amenities, but that was it. Nurses seemed very busy.

I gave the facility 5 stars because my relative is happy with it which is so important. I am also happy with it. The people who work there are very loving and caring. The facility is clean and very well maintained. The employes seem to care and understand the needs of others. This is so important because the staff is who is always around the persons staying there. They need to be relied on. I have to say it is not inexpensive. All facilities cost money but I am happy with this one and it is worth the cost. Very caring and supportive. I was involved in making the decision for this facility and I personally only looked at one other facility close to home but this one seemed to be the best. It was important to pick a place that is not too far away. That makes it easier for friends and family to visit and makes the person at the facility seem closer to family and friends.

My grandfather was a resident at the Worthington for about 5 years, and overall I feel he was well cared for. The facility was clean, and the staff was friendly. My main complaint is that there doesn't seem to be enough focus on keeping the residents active, and very often it seemed that my grandfather would go weeks without much physical activity. Of course this was mostly due to his age, but I felt the staff should have tried harder to keep him active. My grandfather always said he enjoyed being there, and it certainly felt like home for him, which is the most important thing. He always seemed to be well fed, which is also important as I have seen far to many elderly people become weak from lack of proper nutrition. I think the Worthington is a decent place to have a family member reside at, you hear so many horror stories about assisted living facilities, it's good to know that there are places out there that care.

My grandmother ha been in The Worthington for a few years now. She has suffered from Alzheimer's and is very frogetful and has very many mood swings. My family and I were very skeptical at first due to hearing horror stories about other places like this, we decided to check it out. We walked in and it was beautiful. The inside was set up like a small village of sorts, various sitting rooms, cafe, hair salon, the list is endless. Another great feature was the staff, they were smiling, patient and seemed to really enjoy what they do. In the years we have been visiting her (weekly) , we have no complaints whats so ever.
