We chose to have my parents at Lions Gate, because my father had been there for rehab, and he really liked everything about it. So since he'd already been there for that, we decided to have them both there. The rooms are very, very nice. The staff is very accommodating. They both love the food. There's lots of activities and it's very close to me, so it's very convenient, too. They have entertainment, lectures, clubs, and choral groups (my father loves to sing and he wants to join that). The atmosphere is very nice. It's clean and bright. I highly recommend them.

Dad was in rehab from his first back surgery in January. It was a very lovely facility with qualified and very caring people working there. I thought the rehab was very good for him. It was a much smaller facility. They were much older people, and sometimes it was very difficult to communicate with them because they had Alzheimer's and dementia. The food was good there. It was a set menu. You had 2 choices for your meals. You could even pick from a whole menu.

My aunt is at Lions Gate right now. It seems very well run; the food is adequate. The only reason she would be looking for a change would be to be closer to us. It's over an hour away. The activities are adequate. She has a card game going all the time. She plays mahjong but she's a very good bridge player. She's extremely happy there.
She has a nice apartment. It's a 1-bedroom unit which is one of the smaller units. It was adequate for her and my uncle when they lived there and now, it's just for her. It has a small kitchen, a decent-sized bathroom with a shower, a washer and dryer, and a little balcony off the bedroom.

We are staying in Lions Gate. We're in their independent living facility. There is also an assisted living facility here. It is a continuing care facility. The environment, accommodation, and the services of the staff are wonderful. My husband and I are very happy here.

The nicest one was Lions Gate but it's also one of the most expensive. It looked like a very expensive hotel. The rooms are accommodating. They have Kosher meals. The people were nice and friendly and some people seemed engaged. They have bingo, they have mahjong, they'll take you shopping. They have organized some shopping trips if you're mobile enough and can get on the bus.

This facility involves a lot of walking so we are not considering this place. We saw the rooms, they were okay; they were nice and big. I think to better improve their services they could make it more convenient for their residents. They could use more (motorized) wheel chairs. I think this is the best that they can do.

Lions Gate seemed like a very nice place for elderly people. It has plenty of land and very green grass! Upon arrival a very friendly tour guide greeted my grandparents and I, and started our tour. The dining hall was large and there was a lot of variety in the food. I am not a coffee drinker but my grandfather did not like it. The rooms seemed comfortable with many amenities to make things easier. The people seemed fairly content given their situation. We saw the nursing staff at work and they seemed very competent and knew everyone's names. The best part of Lions Gate is how they fit your needs. If you do not need as much assistance you can live on a standalone home in the vicinity. For people who need more help they have apartments. Both were very spacious and I could tell my grandparents were impressed. They can't wait to sell their home and move in!
