I didn't think that Hunterdon Hills Residential Care Facility was quite as forthcoming as the other we looked at. They appeared to be forthcoming, but then I did some research on my own and determined some variables in what they were telling me and what was true. So that's why I decided against them. When we went to view it, they said it was long-term care, but the problem was it wasn't, it's just assisted living and we needed long-term care. They should update and modernize the facility. I don't think it's very expensive, but a fresh coat of paint goes a long way. It just needed some sprucing up because it was dingy. The staff was friendly, but maybe a little too friendly. They just Yes us to death, like yes, yes, yes to anything we need. And then I did some research and it wasn't anything I need, they weren't. They were friendly but I don't think they were truthful and forthcoming. They have just a small TV and dining room area. I did not see an activity room and I didn't see any calendar of activities. It's very small, the smell's not bad but there are ways to improve. There's room for improvement there.

I visited this facility when they were serving lunch. Staff was friendly. It was pretty clean and odor-free.

I wasn't overly impressed with Hunterdon Hills Residential Care Facility. There was an odor in certain areas of the facility and steps, like you would go into one area and you would take one step down and you would go into another area and step down into another area, which concerned me because for a senior citizen, everything should be level. The rooms were OK in size, but there was no bathroom in the room. You have to use shared bathrooms in the hallway, one of which didn't look clean to me. The staff was very nice, but when I asked for a calendar and a menu, but I didn't receive or see any.

I visited Hunterdon Hills. My visit was fine. The people were nice enough. The problem there was that all of the bathrooms were shared. That would not suit my mother at all. The rooms were shared too. It just wasn't a good fit. However, the place was nice enough. It was like hidden away and tucked into this little very secret enclosed area. Everybody seemed nice.
