Patient Activity
The facility is nice and clean. Nurses are responsible but nursing aides are not always responsive. Best part is certain members on their Activity team (such as Annette) are super caring and provide loving care and stimulation every day for long term patients.

My mother has been a resident of CareOne at Ridgewood Avenue in Paramus for the past two years. After her initial transition into the nursing facility, she acclimated herself to all the activities that were offered.
The nursing staff, recreational activities staff, and the physical therapists are truly dedicated, caring, and awesome!
Nursing staff were attentive and caring when my mother had COVID, not once, but twice. And both times she recovered beautifully.
The activities director and activities staff members are above and beyond wonderful! Annette is positive and motivating in getting the residents to participate. She is “one of a kind” individual, creative and artistic!
Physical therapists have worked with my mother to help to actualize her potential in walking and self care.
I would recommend CareOne without hesitation.

This is by far one of the best facilities in the area. They are caring (as their name states), professional, compassionate, accommodating and clean. The staff was very attentive and the medical team takes everything seriously and respects the wishes of the patient and family. The PT/OT department is top notch and got my mom to where she needed to be (per her Drs request) by the time she was discharged. Everyone from the parking attendants, to the front desk, and overall staff could not have been kinder. This was a breath of fresh air after a bad experience in another nearby facility in Wyckoff that landed my mom in the emergency room. Thank you CareOne Ridgewood for all you did to get my 92 year old mom back on her feet.

It might be only a short time I'm dealing with this facility, but within 20 hours they managed to commit 3 medication errors. One of the medication is life sustaining. The facility itself looks good but the Nursing care is less than adequate. It would be nice if these facility would pay a decent salary so they could hire trained people and provide good and safe care to their patients. I am a Nurse myself and have some insight. Very sad and I am fearful for people who have nobody to advocate for them.

My father temporarily went into CareOne at Ridgewood Avenue. The staff was very attentive, but it's very difficult with COVID going on, and mostly the problem we had was he did not adapt well to it. They allowed me to keep in communication with him as best as they could, and the facility was well-kept.

My father was at CareOne at Ridgewood Avenue for rehab. I didn't have any problems or anything, no real issues, none. The staff was very welcoming, very homey, and they treated everybody individually. They didn't have just one standard of care. They were very nice, and they looked happy with their jobs. The food was good. His room was beautiful and spacious. The therapy was great, but when he came back, he was still walking with a cane, so we had rehab people come to the house afterward for a while. When you go there to visit, parking was really awful. It's a small parking lot, and it's really hard to park.

I implore everyone to stay away from this rehab facility. Upon discharge my relative had lost more than 25% of their body weight in less than 30 days. In fact they never bothered to check my relative's weight at all during those 30 days. In addition, they misrepresented my relative's abilities saying the resident could move from bed to chair when in fact they could not even support their own weight and stand upon discharge. No instructions were reviewed for home care and no information was provided regarding medications received and what to continue. The administrator lied to me regarding a conversation she had with the State of NJ LTC representative and the director of nursing is incompetent. My relative's condition is touch and go. In all likelihood, my relative will not recover from the lack of care from this facility. Please stay far away.

My brother was in CareOne at Ridgewood Avenue for a couple of weeks for rehab. It could have been a good experience, but he was awful to the staff. However, I would recommend them to other people, the place is very nice. They had a community room, and they would work with you as much as you wanted to and more. They would go the extra mile if you just cooperate, but my brother wouldn't cooperate. My brother had a roommate in his room. I would rate the staff and the nurses all a 5. The food was good. My brother wouldn't participate in anything, but they had a whole calendar of what's going on.

My husband was a resident here for 6 weeks. He has MS and needed rehab. They were wondefful, from the young lady who met us at the door when we first arrived to the last person who walked us to our car when we left every person we saw was great. Thier rehab dept was great and got my husband moving again.
His only complaint was the food, but I supplemented that everyday, he came home 8 lbs more than when he arrived.
If you or someone you know needs care I reccommend this facility.

Just to preface, I am a daughter of a patient at Pine Rest in Paramus, NJ and have visited my mother there on a number of occasions. I would say that the staff is very helpful and very attentive. From observation, they are very patient with some of the more difficult patients. The staff in general tends to be very kind and giving people. The facilities are clean. My mother says she is very comfortable there. Meals are prepared well and distributed in a timely fashion. There is usually a good amount of staff available to care for patients during holidays. The reputation at Pine Rest is average. One negative I would say is that some of the staff are foreign and have learned English as a second language, which makes it difficult to understand them through thick accents sometimes. The cost of care is reasonable. Overall, I would recommend this facility, Pine Rest, to others who require assisted living.
