When I came here I was told it was temporary. They told me they would help me get the hip surgery I sorely need, so as well as therapy to help me walk again so I can leave here. Hasn't happened in almost 3 years! Keep being told a different reason every time I ask. I feel they want me and my money every month to stay here. The nurses are wonderful do there job properly will help you if they can. The aids most are wonderful some don't want to be here. The decor is beige. The recreation is ok if you like coloring pages from a child coloring book. They do try to do something special for everyone on their birthday. I'm sorry I'm here

My mother-in-law was at Alameda Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare, and I wouldn't recommend that place to a dog. First of all, I had my father there also, and I had to move him out. They kept his last three Social Security checks. They just kept them while he was at home dying. The rooms that they have were filthy, the food was cold, and it was the same food every day. The food was terrible, it's like the homeless get better food than them. In terms of activities, they take them out of their room and put them in like a big room, but that's it, you just sit there. When my mother was in Alameda, they lost all her clothes and dentures, so she's with no teeth right now.

The rooms are dated. Interactions with staff are not consistent. Some are informative while others are dismissive and rude. Messages go unanswered and calls never returned or voicemails are full. Don’t send your parents there for long term care. This is at best a rehab facility.

The rooms are old and have not been painted in years. The senior care inspection rating has listed this place as having substandard care quality. The severity of the Deficiency are
Immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety is in the red color code for Many. The overall rating is one start. Health inspections one star. As for the speech therapist who told me my mom had no issues eating or swallowing food after she was on a liquid diet for ten days, I have no words. If you make a mistake by putting a family member in their care and she is assigned to them, ask for a new speech therapist immediately. She should not be allowed in the care of any one.

I had my father there following brain surgery. He suffered a lot there. He was not fed properly, was calling me all of the time because he was either wet, dirty or in pain and could not reach anyone. For the last 6 months of his life, he had no call bell to alert anyone if he was not feeling well. Unfortunately the last two months of his life I was unable to visit due to the COVID19 and was unable to be there in the afternoon to feed him. My dad passed away of a heartattack on May 22, 2020. I miss him tremedously and wanted to alert other families.

This is a fairly good facility as it provides decent food and living space. It also provides a community of other individuals and routinely holds small events so that the residents have something to do from time to time. The facility also provides cable television for all residents and allows for frequent visits the friends and families of the residents. The staff working at the facility are very caring, friendly, and understanding. They always try to do whatever they can to make sure that each resident feels comfortable and is well taken cared for.Additionally, the facility provides the a variety of options for vegetarian/vegan food, which is a great asset for individuals that do not eat meat. One downside to the facility, however, is the frequency by which laundry often "goes missing" in the facility. Valuables for the most part, however, do not usually go missing at the facility. All in all, I consider the Alameda Medical center to be a very good facility that takes great care of its residents. I would definitely recommend the facility to others, especially to people that are either vegetarians/vegans, because of the wide variety of meal options available there which may perhaps not be available at other nursing home facilities.
