Right now my father-in-law is in Gates Manor. The place is close to a hospital setting. They have people in very bad shape there. It is a very small place and they don't have too many beds. It is not fancy, but it is modest. Because my father-in-law wanted a room of his own, he is on the floor for people with Alzheimer's, even though he is sharp. Nevertheless, the physical therapy was great because they helped my father-in-law walk again. The people are taking care of my father-in-law so much and so well. He was in tears when he was talking about leaving the place. The staff in general is very nice. It feels like there's no other place that would have taken care of him better because he was in a very bad shape when he first moved there. The people are great, but the place is ugly.

The staff, including manager and owner at Gates manor are inept and unprofessional. They are understaffed. One nurse was sneezing all over my aunt as she was changing her, while a new night nurse gave her the wrong medication. After one month in their care my aunt was brought to the hospital with pneumonia. This was due to neglectful care at Gates Manor. When I spoke to the manager, she got defensive with me and told me to take my aunt elsewhere. The owner, Gary said he didn't want to hear it and hung up the phone. This was the worst experience for my family! Save yourself grief and don't put your family member there. They do not respect any opinions and are completely unprofessional.

I found the staff and administration very friendly and accommodating. The facility was very clean and bright
