My mom is going to be transferred to AristaCare at Delaire. The reason I picked it was, it's being completely remodeled, so the rooms and bathrooms and the whole building, once the renovation is done, are going to be completely new. The activities that they have there for the seniors are something that I was interested in. The fact that they told me right away that it's not a prison, that I can take my mom for the day as long as she's back by around 8:00, and that I can take her out to places and visit family and stuff, and no other place was telling me that.
It's an excellent tour. The staff pointed out more things that I hadn't even thought of. I was very, very impressed by this place. I've known a couple of families that have their mothers there. One lady was there for over 10 years, she just recently passed away, but she was also like 94 years old. And they were always glowing reviews of this place, and I saw it for myself. They're still finishing up the remodeling. They explained before, 'Sorry for the appearance,' but they're restructuring the whole building and modernizing everything, so you certainly can't get mad at that. There's an outdoor area for the residents, and there are picnic tables and a whole bunch of stuff. They even have a large dining room where if you want to have parties for your loved one, they'll help you set up parties and bring the family and the whole thing there.

My mom is a current resident of Delaire Nursing & Conv Center. So far it's been pretty good. She likes the community, but she'd rather be at home. They helped her a lot. They watch over her, and they're trying to make sure that her wound is closing up. They clean the wound twice a day, and I can't do that if I take her home too soon.
The staff is pretty good, too, and the facility was clean. It's not a brand-new building, but it's up to date, and I didn't smell anything. I told them that I got a cell phone for her. They charged it for her, and they called me up to talk to her. They were so friendly to help me out with that, because she wants to be home, and she wants to see me.

My mom was recently at this facility. After being there for 2 months, I saw no improvement in her health, so I requested additional services for her to get better, which they denied. My mom was never cleaned when I visited her, and I had to constantly request the nurses aid to clean her. At one point, her room smelled so bad because they refused to clean her and the smell was horrible. They constantly asked that family members do the cleaning. Although every time I visited, the nurse aid seemed like they care, I realized they didn't do much without family members making that request. The medical machines were broken, and made loud noises. Some of the nurses would often smile during my visits, but it wasn't genuine. My mom had several fall accidents while in this facility. Although I asked that she engage in more activities to keep her calm, they refused. They provided limited/ and poor care for my mom. They refused to provide her with any physical/occupational therapy, due to her insurance. I immediately transferred her to a different facility, where she now receives, Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy. Her health have improved since being at this facility.

Visited my mother who had been in bed, so no one was worried about her. Thank god she had gone to HER Dr the day before who advised her to be put in hospital immediately. She was in icu for 3 days. When meeting with the person in charge and asked why staff did not bring this to his attention. He replied " weren't you talking about moving her". Real professional answer. I believe RN stood for " retire now" as he was not capable of managing the assisted living area. Would not recommend this place! Just keep an eye on your love one if you do not want them in intensive care unit or dead.

Delaire Nursing is pretty good. My mother-in-law stayed there for three years. The place was clean and they didn't have the smell. They have lots of activities every day after lunch. They had a lot in their calendar. They didn't have enough staff though.

Upon entering the facility, I was greeted warmly by the staff. Although there were a lot of things going on, I could tell the place was clean and the residents there were clean, dressed neatly and happy. I was directed to the Manager who would take me on the tour. He was busy but made time to take me around and explain the areas. The other staff were pleasant and helpful. I was given information upon leaving and a personal number to call for an assessment of my mom. If and when my mom needs more assistance than I can provide for her, this would be my first choice.
