My parents have moved into Summerhill Assisted Living. We're happy with it as a family. There are plenty of activities and continuity of nursing care. It fits all of our needs. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My parents are very happy with the food there. They have trivia and some music and they have a piano player. Value for money is comparable to others in the area and I think it's good. They have scenic rides and a bus to help people.

Summerhill Assisted Living has a really nice small-town feel. I toured their assisted living, and it's an older building, but it's very well kept up. The community has access to a beautiful library and a beautiful sunroom. It's just beautiful. It's an older home that's been done. The rooms were pretty standard, and the staff was fine. The location is great. The whole thing was really good, it's just a really great place.

We looked at Summerhill Assisted Living. They were more like the crystal glass over a paper cup of facilities. They were almost too good. I knew my mother would not fit in because she grew up in the depression and always saved the last penny and used everything until it was used up. I wanted her to be in a place where she would be happy and with people that she could relate to. The place was very nice. You had a personal chef, and the food was very good. However, when the people would tell you one thing, then turn around and change their minds three times, I got a little upset with that. They would tell you one thing and then they would call you, “Oh, we can’t do that. So, we got to do it this way” and then they would say, “Oh, we can’t do it that way. We had to do it this way." The rooms were very nice and roomy. They had private and shared. I was looking at a shared because I wanted my mother to have company since she enjoys people being around her. She did not want to be locked away by herself. The facility was very nice and smelled good. They kept it up really well. The people, at first, were very easy to deal with and very pleasant, but when I started asking questions such as “When the end comes near, do I have to move her out?” all of a sudden, things started changing. When the end came near, I want her to stay where she is.

My husband had stayed at Summerhill. It had a regular assisted living area and a dementia area. It was a wonderful facility and he had the best of care. He was there a year and a half. We knew that he was well cared for. The staff, the room, everything there was great. I could not say anything negative about Summerhill. It was a wonderful place. During the end of his life, they treated the whole family so kindly. I hope all other place could be like that. I would highly recommend it.
Everybody was so nice and friendly. He was in a private room that was immaculately clean and the food was good. My daughter said her dad was so clean and they kept him so nice. He was content there.

Summerhill was one of the finest places we visited. The woman that showed us around, Karen, was so attentive and answered all of our questions. The facility was very finely appointed, but the staff even greeted us and made us feel welcome even during our initial visit and search. We felt very comfortable placing Dad there, and he came to make many friends. It is not a large place, but I think that was exactly what we needed. We were able to take Dad to all of his local favorite places, and even his friends could stop by during their lunch hour because it was so close and friendly. I can't say enough good things, and think anyone in the southern NH area would be extremely pleased to have a friend or loved one at Summerhill.
