I toured Golden View Health Care Center, and I liked the staff and the facility itself. It seemed to meet the needs that I was looking for. The staff was very helpful. The facilities were pretty good. The dining hall was bright and cheery, and I liked the fact that it was small. I was there late on a Friday afternoon unannounced, and I was impressed that it was clean.

We liked Golden View Health Care Center of all the ones we've seen. It's assisted living with some memory care. It's got three units, and we visited The Terrace. They told us that because we were looking at both of them, my husband would have a shorter wait to get in probably. It's very lovely, clean and well decorated. The people that you see are very friendly and very open. The person who did our tour, I know her job is to encourage people to have their care there, but she's a very bright and articulate person and did a great job answering all of our questions. We didn't try eating there, but we liked the dining room. The menus had a nice variety and good choices. The fact that there are things like snacks available almost any time of the day or evening is nice. There was a country-western singer that was there, and people had gone to hear him. Their activity board had a lot of different activities. The rooms we went into, the bathrooms and showers we went into, and the public areas all looked really good.

Golden View was a very nice facility. I just don't think my brother would be happy there, but I'm sure it's more than suitable for other people. They were very thorough in showing me around the facility. We talked about some of the activities and what kind of things were available. They were very nice and very caring. I observed that they seemed to be very good at what they do. The rooms they had were just basic rooms. They were fine. They were clean and well kept. They had furniture in them, and they could bring their own stuff as well. They had rooms for watching TV, and reading. They talked about some of the other activities they do and just standard things that you would expect.

My mom recently moved to Golden View assisted living and so far she’s settling in well. The staff have been very kind and have made sure to keep me and my siblings updated on how she’s doing which has been a blessing in this pandemic. Mom likes her room and the food and says the staff and others living there are lovely.

I didn't like Golden View Meredith, the section where they were going to put my mother in was more like a hospital. Because they didn't have any beds available in the second level so they're going to put her on 3rd level care. I didn't want that. Their individual apartments were very nice, but the place where they're going to put my mother didn't work for me. The building has different floors. They have separate apartments, and on the first floor they have people who could basically take care of themselves, the second floor of the building was the people that needed more care, and it's very outdated. Even to the point where what's on the hallway was totally like a hospital. I wasn't impressed after being there for 10 minutes and the girl giving the tour was like saying that it is what it is. When I went there, the girl gave me a walk up to the room that's available. I saw the lunch room on the first floor, but since my mom won't be staying on the first floor, her food would be taken to her room just like a hospital. The section where they were going to put her in was very drab, the rest of the place had been brought up to date but not that area. The girl never explained anything about the activities, she wasn't very helpful.

My husband moved into Golden View. It looks dignified, nice, and the staff is well trained. They have a fair bit of music, which I appreciate. The dining area is very nice, the food is bland, and it looks like everybody gets bland food. He has a private room. I think the living space is small, but the bathroom is very big. They are way too expensive.

Golden view was very clean, very charming, and very appealing. The staff was very cordial and very helpful. I didn't see activities, and there was virtually no one there, but they had beautiful grounds, beautiful rooms, and spacious common rooms that were very inviting. I would like to move in there myself.

Golden View was nice. The apartments were very nice, clean, painted, and well kept. It looked elegant and I think my mom would like it. The staff was very friendly. The nurses came up to me and introduced themselves. They're very professional and very nice.

I was very impressed when my mother was still in the rehabilitation area of Golden View. I found that the staff was extremely caring, they were there when she buzzed, and everything was excellent. But when she went into the assisted living area, I learned that she wasn't assisted as much as she should have been. Like they would drop off the bathing material and they'd say, "Just tell us if you need help." And she was paying for that. She also fell at least twice and got hospitalized, but we don't know if it was because of negligence or if my mom tried to do things on her own. The community looked very nice and the food was appetizing and nourishing.

My mom lives at The Terrace assisted living and loves it. She loves the concerts and bowling, as well as the van trips.
