Description

About This Community

Heritage Ridge Independent Living, Assisted Living & Memory Care delivers their mission to design programs to keep tenants independent as long as possible, while meeting their individual needs. With new buildings erected in 2010, the Bellevue, Nebraska facility is equipped to accommodate the numerous activities available to residents. Because a life enrichment program is key in the well-being of older adults, residents with all levels of needs are included in abundant activities and outings. Even those receiving memory care services thrive as they participate in activities along with the assisted living and independent population. "The home is so resident-focused," remarks Corporate Director at parent company Heritage Management Services, Lori Paulsen.

Ms. Paulsen is proud of the diversity Heritage Ridge provides. Because Bellevue is located in an Air Force Base community, residents come from all over the world, with most out-of-towners hailing from Europe. Thus, the facility comprises all ages and is quite a stimulating community. Imagine the number of stories in the number of colorful languages you might hear at the dinner table there! Heritage Ridge's diversity is certainly unusual for Nebraska.

The connection with the Air Force Base community also brings another interesting feature: an observation deck for viewing numerous nearby air shows. Understandably, the general population of the community may find these shows entertaining, but they are especially valued by retired Air Force residents.

Heritage Ridge's enrichment program includes surprising outings such as trips to casinos and shopping, lunches out and even a river boat cruise! Happy Hour is held every Friday with a bartender on board, and the onsite pub includes lockers for residents to store their beverages.

Finally, not all retirement options allow animals, but Heritage Ridge does, realizing that mature individuals find great comfort in their small pets.

Heritage Ridge realizes that keeping all levels of residents together (assisted living, independent living and memory care) maintains the richness of the community and enhances the well-being of those with greater needs.

Words can paint a picture, but nothing compares to seeing with your own eyes. Schedule a tour today!

My father moved into Heritage Ridge Assisted Living. It's a pretty nice place, the director has been very helpful in moving my dad from a two-bedroom to a one-bedroom, which was cheaper. It's very clean, it's homey, I see a lot of people out and about, and they seem happy. He's got a little button that he can push around his neck and they're very receptive in getting there in a timely manner. If I have something to drop off they get it to him right away. Dad says he gets fed quite a bit, and he likes it. They have a club there, and he likes an occasional glass of wine, so that would be good. They have a library, rooms where you can do some projects, they have meetings, he is encouraged to go out, and there's an exercise area right outside his room. He's getting some physical therapy as well. The staff is nice and very respectful toward my dad. They clean his room once a week and he can take showers whenever he wants.

Heritage Ridge was awesome but very expensive. They had a library with a coffee maker. A lot of people from my church go there. The staff was very friendly.

My brother is staying at Heritage Ridge. It’s really nice, and it’s only about 6 years old. They have one whole wing that is independent living, and they have another wing that’s assisted living; these wings are connected. They have cafeterias that are restaurant style, and they even have a little pub for happy hour. They have a machine that makes coffee, hot chocolate, and cappuccino. They have 3 of the big meeting rooms for activities. They have a popcorn machine, a vending machine, an ice cream machine, and a game room. The staff was so friendly, it was amazing; they were checking on him every hour just to see what he is doing. I feel more comfortable having him there.

Heritage Ridge is closer, and my mom can have her dog here. It's very nice. The rooms are just right. She has a one-bedroom with a den. The staff is very good, very helpful, and very pleasant. They ask for feedback, which is nice. I have tried the food, and it's very good. They have a lot of different things, but she hasn't done any of them yet.

We already found a place for our parents. They are in Heritage Ridge, and it is really nice. My dad is a retired military, and Heritage is close to a military base, and the people are really nice. The rooms are big. It is a one bedroom suite. It is memory care and assisted living in the same building, so that is really good. It is easier for my dad to visit my mom. I have not tried the food, but they like it. They have a lot of activities, but I don't know that my parents have really needed very much. We really liked the staff there a lot because they are really caring, and it is a big thing.

I visited Heritage Ridge, and that was too expensive for me. I had to pay for everything. The rooms were small. The people working there were fine. They were great. They had everything, and they had activities too. I will recommend it, if they have the money for it.

I liked absolutely everything about Heritage Ridge Retirement. They had nice, roomy and well-designed apartments. The staff seemed terrific. The dining room and all the public areas were very nice. The menu looked good. The transportation was very good as well as the accessibility to the highway. It was an excellent and a recommendable facility.

My grandmother is currently living there and we WERE happy when there was other management in place... now with new management, we find pills on the floor (which should have been given to my grandmother), they say they clean her room and there is always dust and the carpet never looks vacuumed, and they don't seem very attentive at all. We would look for another place, but the pickings are slim in this area, and we need her to be close for appointments and other things. It is like a catch 22 - Bellevue is really in need of a good, quality, elderly care facility.

Heritage Ridge is very close to my house and that's good but I'm not pleased very much with them. The place is very clean and the nurses and the other people who work there are very good. I'm not pleased with the insurance person, it has taken me more than three months to get any action started on a long-term policy that we had. The people higher up are not so good.

My mother and I toured the Heritage Ridge Retirement Living. The room that we got to see was very nice and my mother liked it. It was small but she liked that aspect of it. My mom had a dog and they were willing to let her dog stayed with her. We actually sat down and ate lunch with some of the other residents and their food was good. However, when my mother couldn't eat what they brought her, they offered her some other things, which was nice. Their dining room was very nice. It had large tables where four to six people could sit. It had very comfortable chairs. It's almost like eating at home. They also had a large outdoor area that was enclosed and they had raised gardening boxes that people could garden as they chose to. Most importantly, my mother liked the staff. They were friendly, very cooperative, and very accommodating. They understood our situation. She was very excited about moving there, but her health took a turn for the worse and she passed away. She was not able to ever move in.

I have a family member that lived here and this place is very expensive, especially for the care that the residents receive. They are always under staffed but insist that they are fully staffed. If you send your parent or friend here please expect them to not get serviced for atleast 30-60 minutes. On top of that, their food is entirely too greasy. It makes no sense to make the food that they do for an elderly person's stomach. Please pay attention to the company and remove your family member as soon as possible just like we did. They are all about the money!
