Richmont Village was a fairly new facility. They have some newer-looking amenities. The only downgrade on the tour was not having as much time to look at it, but it was towards the end of the day. It was not a scheduled tour, but we did give the staff notice that we may be dropping by just to check-in. I think there were others that she was having to deal with as well. We got an expedited tour, probably about a 40-minute tour, as well as having the time to discuss some of my father's needs, just so she had stuff for her notes in case we decided to go with Richmont, which we probably are leaning heavily towards right now. They had newer air-conditioner-type units, not that big old unit beneath the window. It's more of a central air type. The dining area looked nice and clean; I had no issues there. Everything looked good from what we were able to see. We've got some recommendations, too, from a couple of other friends who have parents staying there. They provide trips for certain activities, whether it's going on a hiking trail or visiting lakes, or going shopping.

Everybody in Richmont Village was extremely happy. The staff was really happy, and the residents were all smiling. Everybody there was nice. The staff was great. It seemed like a really nice place to go. When you go into these kinds of facilities or a nursing home, sometimes they do not smell that fresh; it wasn't like that in Richmond Village. It was just really, really, really nice, and clean. It's a big place, but nice. Kim was the one who assisted us, and she was really nice and informative. She explained a lot more than the other facility we visited. They were just really nice to deal with, and it was really nice to talk with them. If I had to be in a facility, I would want it to be like that because they had some great stuff in there. The place was immaculate. They had great facilities and things that they do for the residents.

I toured Richmont Village for my dad. when you first walked in It was very dark. There just wasn't any lights on, and it was just dark. I didn't like the appearance of their main area and the area where people could congregate was quite small. When we were there I think the people had already had lunch, and they were cleaning up. I'd say 01:00 pm or 01:15 pm. There was no one sitting in the courtyard or the lobby. In fact, there was no one to be seen anywhere, except a person at the desk. I was kind of surprised that there weren't more people just out visiting or talking with each other. It was just kind of gloomy. We met with one person, and she took us to see two available bedrooms. They were small and the living area was small. The entire place was smaller, square foot wise, than where my dad is right now, and it did not have as many windows to let natural light in. But it was very clean, and I was impressed with that. They did not have a varied list of amenities. The community bus that they have was taking people to a Wal-Mart or taking them to the grocery store. I didn't see if they had many other activities or if they were posted somewhere. It seems that it was more getting the people out.

Richmont Village is very nice, but they’re a lot more expensive. You have to sign in and out, or be buzzed in and out, and we liked that. They have an excellent menu, but it seemed to be a little bit bigger than what we were looking for. You can bring a pet in and we appreciated that. The rooms were pretty nice, they’re closed in with a garden area, and they have an elevator. They will take people to outings once a week, to the casino, or to the stores, and that's very nice.

My parents are on the waiting list of Richmont Village. The place is clean and well-organized. There are lots of activities. The staff members are professional and pleasant. It is a great location. They have a courtyard, and their outdoor facilities are nice. The rooms are contemporary, well laid-out, and very spacious. There is lots of natural lighting and big windows. They have shopping, trips, game night, music coming in, and Sunday drives. They have transportation for doctors' visits and things like that.

Richmont Terrace was the one that we selected for Mom. The reason we selected it was the professionalism of the staff and we thought the facility was excellent. The room was spacious and had more storage than the other places we saw. They had a library, activities room, and laundry room that the residents could use or the relatives could use. They had a nice outdoor court and balconies. It's only a couple years old and it's in excellent condition. The dining area was average-sized and just very nice. We liked that it also had a memory care unit. My mom is 94 and she may eventually have to go to the memory care unit, and we liked that we wouldn't have to move her again.

Richmont Village is very new and reminds me of a hotel. It's nicely decorated. My father-in-law is on the 1st floor. The staff is very nice. The rooms and the units are different sizes and I like the size of the unit that he's in. It has a kitchen with a microwave and a refrigerator, but since he doesn’t cook, he has meals provided. I particularly like the activity schedule for the residents. It’s a varied program that includes day trips, visiting musicians, and has a lot going on.

Richmont Village is the one that we went to. My parents actually love it, and we all love it. My mom actually put a deposit there. She really wanted to go there, but they decided that she didn’t know if she was ready to leave her home. But Richmont Village was wonderful. It’s brand new, it’s absolutely beautiful, and we love it. The apartments were spacious. We had a free meal in the dining room, and the food was delicious. The people that we met that work there were all very courteous and very professional. We just like everything about it.
