What is it that makes any house a home? It's when you belong to the family inside. And each one of our residences is home to a unique family, a circle that encompasses both residents and staff.
In the best families, members of all ages treat each other with respect. They encourage and listen to one another. It's where we rejoice, play and grieve together; where individuality is appreciated; where we learn and grow together. Safe harbor and unconditional love are found there.
People thrive when they feel like part of a cherished family, knowing they're surrounded by those who only want what's best for them. It's also a comforting, supportive and healing environment for those who are facing loss or illness.
Our ability to bring this philosophy to life depends entirely on hiring the right people. That's why every staff person is hand-picked for their capacity to provide the kind of care we'd want for our own loved ones. We are united by this purpose.

Can't say enough good things about this place. My Dad is currently staying here. They take such good care and are always looking out for him. He says the food is fantastic! Very friendly staff that keep the residents busy with all kinds of activities they can participate in. Clean, safe facility. Thank you to all the staff.

My mom is currently residing on The Kensington memory care floor. They seem to do a real good job of keeping them busy and doing things. The structure of the place is good. They keep them clean and well-groomed, so I think they do a pretty good job of everything. The food seemed to be good and they seemed to be attentive to their needs. They seem to be very good and very helpful with everything, and make everyone feel comfortable.

I liked The Kensington Hastings. It was a great community. We had an amazing lunch there and the staff was very nice. The facilities were delightful. It was very welcoming, homey, comfortable, and experienced. They seemed to know what I needed.

My spouse has been on the memory unit for the past 4+ years. Her initial room tended to be too hot or too cold . However, her present room has been stable in temperature control. Staff have been caring, polite & compassionate. Dietary content has significantly improved over the 4 years. The present activities director is a jewel. One outstanding need is for a new, larger elevator.

My sister was at The Kensington for two weeks. It used to be one of Hasting's finest hotels at one time, and it was refurbished into an assisted living facility. It's absolutely gorgeous. The staff is wonderful. They couldn't do enough to help her get used to the facility, even introducing her to other ladies and groups. They were wonderful and did a lot to help. They have rooms for Medicaid as well as private pay. She had a very big, nice room, with a separate bathroom, and big windows. They had a very nice dining room. They had Bingo, crafts, "caring hands," and they had a bus that would take them around places. They had lots of activities.

The Kensington was a nice assisted-living center where my grandfather currently lives. We chose this place for his new home as it is close to our family and as a chile he stayed there back when it was a hotel. Overall our experience the past few years has been quite positive, the staff and the facilities are very welcoming and it is a place I would recommend for anyone to visit. The small town of Hastings is very accommodating and the daily shuttle service to attractions around town certainly helps.

The staff was caring and helpful and acted like the wanted to be there. The residents were spirited and enjoyed the many actives that they had planned each day there was something different going on. If you wanted to do a lot you could if not then you were able to do that too its there choice. The building was very nice, it once was The Clarke Hotel so it has some history to it and it shows. The family room and lobby are the two places i liked the most the mural on the wall is a work of art and the marble in the lobby is amazing. I really enjoyed my stay there is guest rooms so you can visit without invading the residents space. I would really recommend this assisted living to any one because of the care that is provided there. I have visited other assisted living locations and they done feel like a home like The Kensington does they feel like a business.
