So far, everything at Nye Legacy has been wonderful. I don't have any complaints about anything. They had activities and things that my dad enjoyed, but then COVID struck and so then they were locked back in their rooms. The only thing is that my brother-in-law and I had left several messages for the caseworker there to return the call, and he has never returned our phone calls. There was a lack of response from the case worker. My dad has been there for about two weeks now. The physical therapist was telling my dad that he was doing good with his therapy so he could go home, but home was never going to be an option. So when he found out he couldn't go home, it was pretty devastating to him. My dad said the food was excellent, and he was able to participate in their activities. There were excellent options and things for him there. The place was very clean and very nice.

My father was a resident. There was a time he went 11 days without a bath. They blamed Covid but they were not on lock down at that time. Covid...My Father was exposed and had to be tested 5-6 times. All from staff. When they had a staff member test positive the residents had to be in their rooms door shut. No bath, no outside fresh air. For a retired farmer this was so hard for him. When I expressed my concerns of staff not being careful enough I was told by director, that he was "very proud of his staff" in the end they gave it to him. He had been locked up all this time due to their carelessness. In the end he passed away of Covid from staff exposure. He was never a picky eater but did not like the food. Rooms are dark and gloomy, beautiful lobby...don't be fooled.

Nye Legacy was a very good facility. My mother went there to get stronger, so she was doing physical therapy there. We had hospice there also, and the people were wonderful. She was happy while she was there, and she seemed to like the food. She had occupational and physical therapy a couple of times a day. Her room was small, but adequate for one person. She shared a bathroom with the room next door. It had a closet, a dresser, a bed, and a TV set. The staff was wonderful and very caring.

For clinical rotations in my CNA class, we visited 2 different times for a total of 24 hours. The amenities were top notch and as a whole, the facility was one of the cleanest I've ever seen. The whole building was clean and did not have a stench that most nursing homes are known the have. While there, a resident did pass away. The staff and family worked together exceptionally well in this time of tragedy. The resident was able to pass away privately and peacefully, with the family by his side. All the residents were taken care of in a timely fashion, with most of the nurses going above and beyond the minimum requirement to assist these people.
