I went and saw Croatan Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. It's fine. It was a little bit newer and maybe looked a little cleaner. The day I toured they had an activity ongoing while I was there. They have private and semi-private rooms as well. I saw both and they looked fine. They have an admissions director, so it's a person who is specifically geared toward working with people who are doing admissions. They have a couple of courtyards. One is mostly used by staff for smoking, but then they have another one that is mostly used by the people who live there. They have a lobby area with some birds and fish, but it's small. They have a game room and a dining area.

This facility has been running for a while. Even though it’s not a five star resort I found the care to my loved one was top notch. Nothing is ever perfect, but when I concerned issues they were heard and staff tried to accommodate them. Rooms are double occupancy and small with a shared bathroom. One cna named Melissa provided top notch care for my family member. She went beyond the call to help him before he left to go home.

My experience with this facility was short-lived I visited in hopes of placing a loved one there and found the facility to be filthy, run down and just old and dilapidated! The fact that you have to share a bathroom and a room is unacceptable. Although the staff seem very friendly and caring- I just could not allow someone that I love in a place like that.
How this got a five star rating is beyond me it’s old and nasty !

My overall experience with Croatan Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center was good. My father was in a shared room with a shared bathroom. They were clean. I guess I liked some of the physical therapy that they had. The staff was helpful.
