Although some of the care providers are very competent, the organization is very unprofessional. Patients are often left without care for hours due to scheduling gaps and lack of adequate staff. Many staff members lack experience and are without training.

My mom was at St Joseph of the Pines Health for rehab. It was clean. My mom's room was fine, but she had to pay for the private room, and it was very expensive. I didn't think it was great value for the money. As far as the social worker and the rehab, they were great, but as far as the regular everyday staff, they were horrible. My mom complained a lot about them. The CNAs and the ones that are giving dinners and helping them into bed, I would give that staff a 1; however, not for the rehab and the social people, who were great and honest. It was the nursing staff that was horrible.

My father stayed at St. Joseph of the Pines for his rehab after his surgery. The overall appearance of the place was beautiful. The care they gave my father was good, but I didn't like the way they treated my mother. My mother was there for a brief period of time, and I didn't like the way the nursing staff spoke to my mother at all. The rooms were very beautiful. It was a beautiful, very clean, and well maintained facility. I liked the location, and the grounds were beautiful. It was situated in the country with beautiful trees. It was very peaceful and beautiful.

My dad stayed at St. Joseph for rehab. It was an excellent place and it’s very clean. My dad wanted to go back when he got through with his rehab; he stayed a little bit longer. His health improved so much -- his mobility, his appetite, and some medical issues that he’s had prior to going in did not bother him during his stay. The residents are able to interact with one another in a very open way.

On June 4th and 5th I called Joella in admissions at this facility to inquire about rooms being available for patients. The first time I called I was just inquiring in case we needed to place my sister. I have never had to place anyone in a facilty so I did not know their protocol. I took care of what JOELLA told me to do had paperwork requested faxed to her. When I called her back around 2 she had not received anything, so I called teh Docotrs office to see if they could fax it again. Oh but one thing was left out of our conversation and that is that they have beds and they havea waiting. Now Joella having me believe that once they could see if they could meet my sisters medical need we would go to the next step. Today I have spoken to Dawn and Josh( I think they are both in Adminstration ) and they offered to help me by giving me a list. I told Josh no thanks and I could handle that. Later when I spoke to Dawn, in my mind I felt she could care less by her tone of her voice. I then called back and left message for CEO to call. I know that they will not take my sister, but This is awful and uncall for. If Joella had only told me the prodecure in placing someone, none of this would happen. If you decide to place someone there you better speak to someone that knows job and not assume that the families of the patients know her JOB...... I really would give this facilty qny rating but it would not accept my review. Please take this serious so that your family will not have to go through a day, like my family has.

I have visited my grandmother in St. Joseph's of the Pines at least a dozen times since she moved to the facility last August of 2011. It is a pleasure to visit her there. The parking is ample and close to the building. Although the facility seems very up to date, they are constantly improving it, including a current construction project involving a new wing and a new entry way. When you enter the facility, you are greeted by the sound of birds chirping. They have a small aviary of finches that are pleasant to hear and see in the front lobby. The walls of the wide, well-lit walls are painted a peaceful green. As it is a Catholic facility, there are also crosses and cruifix to be found on many walls. The aides are cheerful and helpful. My grandmother does have a roommate, but the rooms are large and airy, with large windows overlooking well-manicured grounds. Each resident has a flat-screen television for her own enjoyment, although they do share a bathroom. My only negative comment would be that the walls of the rooms are a sterile white, but other than that it is a pleasant place to live.

Saint Joseph of the Pines is an excellent facility. I was visiting a friend there and she was treated with excellent care. The receptionist when I walked into the facility seemed very knowledgeable about the place. She was able to answer my questions and address my concerns about my friends and was friendly and compassionate when answering. The nursing staff were very attentive and came when my friend called for assistance. The nusrse had excellent bedside manner. The food was surprisingly good for assisted living food. I was able to order food and pay a small amount when I was there. The room was also spacious and well as the bathroom. There is also an excellent physical therapy there. There is a therapy apartment that is for rehab patients that was shown to us as well as therapy village with a car, restaurant, store setup and movie theater to help people get used to everyday challenges. I would recommend this place to anyone who asks.

It provides medical care on site, medicines, physical therapy, meals and transportation to and from if needed. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and caring. Very good enviroment

My Grandfather lived in this facility in the last year of his life. I was struck by how conscientious the staff was. In particular, once upon visiting an aide was helping my grandfather put his socks on, and he was moved to compliment the aide on how kind he was. The one downside was that there were no televisions in the rooms of the patients unless a fee was paid, but this was a religiously run institution, and I understand that they may have been trying to give the seniors time for contemplation. Overall, this was a very peaceful, warm atmosphere and my Grandfather would tell us how well he was being treated quite often.
