I toured WoodHaven Nursing, Alzheimer's and Rehabilitation Care Center. It was clean, and there was no unpleasant odor. It looked like the residents seemed to be happier there. I heard laughter, I saw smiles, and I saw a better living arrangement where they have more private rooms, with one individual per room. They have no TVs in the rooms in the Alzheimer's unit. Only very few have TVs, the ones that were private rooms. The staff was friendly, nice, cordial, and knowledgeable. She seems very interactive with the clients, and helpful in giving information. They had an inside courtyard area and an outside area. They had an all-purpose room, they had a TV, and activities like games, board games, stuff like that.

Some workers are very friendly, Mrs. Judy my favorite. My grandmother caught the Covid from this nursing home and No one thought it was important to call her family. The way we found out I went to check when a nurse called and said she was losing weight rapidly. Upon talking to the unit nurse that's when I found out the reason for the weight loss, because of Covid. I have expressed my concerns with some staff the last person I spoke with the Social worker of the facility she assured me that someone would call me, it's now going on 2weeks No response. She died December 23,2020.

My father is currently staying at Woodhaven in Lumberton. It's wonderful. He's doing really well there. I feel like he's being well taken care of. The rooms are just basic, they're basically like private hospital rooms. They have a common area, a little lounge area that's great. The staff is great. I'd say the food is good because my dad is a very picky eater and he likes the food. Overall I'd say he likes the food. The facility is very clean. I think their staff is very attentive. They're very professional.

My overall impression with WoodHaven Nursing and Rehab is good. The staff is great, and the rooms are wonderful. I have therapy here. They provide meals, television, and activities. My insurance pays for it.

My father-in-law is in Woodhaven. So, far it's great. The social worker has been very helpful in solving all the issues and paperwork to get him admitted to the home and keeping him there. His room is a single and probably the nicest room I've seen outside of a luxury hotel. It's spacious, nice, and bright. He's happy there, and that's what counts.

I'd give this facility no star for no heart but you have to rate it in order to leave a comment. I so agree with the other comment about keeping the patients overmedicated. As I learned this by my Mom being rushed to the hospital and admitted for over a week. I think they need to be investigated, oh but let's get real it's run by the Southeastern Regional Medical Center. Most of the CNA's have no idea what to do, stop... rewind they don't want to know anything. I could say the same about the LPN's and RN's .... Someone definitely needs to look into this foul smelling site....when it's time to change the patients some of the staff just stands around waiting for the other to do the job, even though they all are on the (clock). I say to them leave and let someone with heart earn a honest living.

My experience at Woodhaven Nursing Center opened my eyes to the realities of the abuse and neglect of the elderly. Upon entering, one immediately feels as though they are visiting a prison, not a nursing home. I had the opportunity to visit with several of their clients who all appear to be over-medicated with sedatives. I mentioned my concern about this to the staff, who admitted that they keep their residents constantly sedated so that the staff does not have to be bothered by them as much. The staff not only refuses to treat the residents with respect, but their actions verge on abuse. Several of the residents I visited with had not been bathed in some time and were sitting in unchanged disposable underwear. When the Certified Nursing Assistants did bathe the residents, they stripped them down completely naked, and allowed the residents to wander around their room with an open door. The staff in unempathetic, unsympathetic, unfriendly, harsh, and allows no reasonable privacy to their residents.
