Shuler Health Care Assisted Living was not suitable for my wife. There were two people in the room in all of the rooms that I saw. I asked about private rooms and I was informed that they'd have to ask the owner of the property about that (it'd be quite an exception). The prices at that place were surprisingly higher than all of the other places I looked at. The staff members were quite friendly and gave a business card and a one-sheet amenities summary, and that was it. They were very nice, but it seemed to me more people were in the mental health need category. The staff told me that a psychiatrist and a therapist came around certain periods of time to help people. That's the impression I got of it, and it was at the end of a dead-end road. The grounds were not impressive at all. I didn't see many common areas. In each bay or area, there were 12 residents, all two to a room, and no private bathrooms. Some residents were milling around outside in the parking lot. I didn't see any activities going on. I saw a jigsaw puzzle or two on the table and that's it.

I think the tour experience with Shuler Health Care Assisted Living was great, but it's not somewhere I would want to place my mother. It was fun. I thought it was clean and all that, but I can't imagine them sharing three bathrooms for 12 people. It's just not a community I would set my mom up in. The staff member, Sarah, she was very helpful and very professional. The facility was fine. They have several different villas with seven different rooms, etc. There's two people per room, so there's no privacy.

I went to Shuler Health Care Assisted Living. The staff was awesome, they answered the call on the second ring, they were very attentive, I did a tour, very nice setting, and it was a co-ed style home living. The guys are in different cottages, and the women in different cottages. There's a house companion that actually stayed with the residents in the facility. They had a garden area, a pond with koi fish. It was very nice and affordable. I met the owners.

I liked Shuler Health Care. It's very good for what they offer. They have very good staff, and it's a very friendly place. The only thing there that I did not like was the rooms were way too small for two people. The staff was very caring and there's not a lot of turnover in their house parents. I was impressed that their employees have longevity there. The rooms were very small and none of them offer a private bath facility. They have 12 people per house unit and they only have three bathrooms available, which I thought was a little tight. Their dining rooms are very personable and very clean. I went there one time during lunchtime and the food smelled really good. Everybody seemed happy and was enjoying it.

The shared bedrooms are small as well as closet space, the 12 residents share 2 larger baths in hallway. there are rules about eating in dining room and requirements about food being in room. Then snacks are locked up and not available all day. Not a lot of activities offered mostly allowing the residents to sleep or sit outside all day. Outside doors not always secured. Cannot lock individual room doors. Staff not always available. No one assists with bathing, grooming - residents walk the halls in pj's.

We liked Shuler Health Care. They're more for people who can pretty much do stuff on their own or those who need minimal help. They have two-person suites. The food smelled really good. The staff who showed us around was great and explained everything.

Shuler Health Care was a good, nice, and homey place. The atmosphere was more like an apartment or house versus hospital-type setting. They had activities for the residents.

I did visit Shuler Health Care, but they didn’t have any opening at that time. I also found out that in a room, there would be two persons occupying it. It was more affordable, but the location is too rural and they didn’t have enough activities. The management was very friendly as well as the staff.
