I have been a constant visitor for over 5 years. The staff is top notch. Compassion starts at top with administration and carries through the entire staff - medical, support staff, maintenance, transportation. There is a "family atmosphere". There are many community volunteers and church groups who also offer support. There are constant activities for residents. It is clean, I have never detected the "nursing home odor" here. If you or a loved one needs care - This is the place

My mother is in Lutheran Home. There is a delay in response. Some staff are good, and some are not. The color of the room is just drab. Last Friday, I took her shopping, and they were very helpful with me getting her out. They were good at getting her to bed. I have no complaints there. They're doing better at following through and getting her to do things. For a while, they would just ask her, she'd say no, and that was it. They need to improve on the communication with the family.

The doctor sent my mother-in-law to Trinity Oaks for rehab. We knew of its reputation and we knew previous people that had been there. The staff is very attentive, knowledgeable, communicates with us frequently and kept us informed. The place is also clean.

The staff is on top of things, responding quickly and efficiently to resident requests, or those of family members. Personal items do not mysteriously go missing as I have seen them do in other locations. Privacy is of the utmost importance as is the safety of the residents. The only negatives are that the facility tends to have a "nursing home" smell, which can be attributed to soiled linens in laundry bins in the hall and the trays of the hospital-style food waiting to be served. Being that this is a religious-based establishment, I feel that the residents are cared for in a way that is not always the case at other facilities. The staff seem to be present because this is what they do, it isn't just a job for them. This is obvious in the caring manner that they interact and treat both the visitors and the residents.
