This operation continues to decline. The monthly fees are tremendously high for the value. Communication from staff to residents and families is poor. Try to get someone to call you back. Worst, is the internal communications among the staff with different med center staff providing different care for a patient. No confidence that anyone is reading and recording in charts. While there are caring staff members, there are a good number of lightly trained staff with poor attitudes who are bothered by residents' request for care.
The new apartments and cottages are poorly constructed. Windows leak outside air, door frames are not straight, doors do not close properly, you can slide packages under some of the doors which are out of alignment leaving large gaps under the doors. Maybe this is why there are so many ants. There is no heat or air conditioning in the bathrooms, it takes 5 -10 minutes to get hot water to the faucets. These units are also undersized from the original contract drawings future residents received when purchasing the units. Understanding COVID is a staffing issue, there is no reason for residents to be charged more for fewer services - for example meals and meal deliveries. Meal quality has also declined steadily in the last 3 years.

I did rehab at Carolina Village. It is a CCRC or continuous care. I was in their care unit after I had hip surgery. They have separate homes, and they also have apartments. I have visited friends there as well, but I haven't really gone all the way through it. The food was terrible. I haven't seen that much of the facility, and I've never been in their dining room. I was only in two rooms: my room and the exercise room. I've been in their independent living apartments before, and they were very nice. They had two- and three-bedroom apartments, and they had full kitchens. It's very expensive. They had very high monthly payments, but they take care of you until you die.

My parents bought into this facility over 20 years ago. Dad got sick and stayed in the med center for the last year of his life. Nurses and staff were very good to him. I highly recommend their facilities. Mom lived in the independent living for 15 years. I’m very pleased with the facility and it’s services, she complained about the food now and then but her overall experience was very positive. Staff knew her and treated her like family. She passed away last year and her last weeks were in the med center. I’m very thankful she was so well taken care of by the nurses and staff. They did an exceptional job with her and made us children feel so blessed. Would recommend CV to anyone.

I liked Carolina Village. The people were very pleasant, and they took us around. We had a meal there. Their dining room was very pleasant, and the meal was very nice. A lot of people made their reservations to go there because it was a very popular place. A lot of people who have lived in Hendersonville for long time go there. They had all kinds of activities.

We visited Carolina Village and looked at the rooms. The rooms were spacious, more spacious than what you pay for. Everything in this facility was nice though. Their staff was nice. They also have everything in there in terms of activities. However, we can't afford this facility. Everything was expensive. My husband did not like it too.
