I've been to the Brookdale W. Arlington Boulevard within the last 18 months. I saw a small group gathered in the entryway, and it's more oriented towards security. I don't know whether the people there are having memory problems or not. When you come in, you come through a screened portal that connects with the bracelet you wear. When the person brought me in, we went to the left and there were two sitting areas at the front. There's full open access. I would think that that area was probably 30 feet wide, and there's a semi-circular reception desk. I felt the most impressive thing was there were two private living rooms where families can visit. If the person happens to be bedridden, there's space to even roll them in on their bed. I thought that was a really great thing. When people are being cared for in more of a semiprivate setting, it would give the family privacy. Everyone that greeted me was either walking with someone or sitting with a small group or in the activity room doing something. The staff was very engaged and positive. The dining area was roomy. There were tables that had chairs as well as tables that were set up for people to come up to with assistive devices. The atmosphere was positive, active and engaged.

My friend has moved into Brookdale W. Arlington Boulevard. It is very nice. Everyone is very kind, very attentive, and always pleasant to talk to. The food is very good; I have eaten there many times myself. My friend hasn't engaged in many activities yet, but there was a singer one time and she had the ladies moving around a little bit. Also there are some volunteers that play card games with them. The room is very nice.

Brookdale W. Arlington Boulevard is very nice. The grounds are kept up very nicely, and they have an inside courtyard so they don't have to leave the building to sit outside or they can go out and sit on the front porch. The location is perfect, there's a hospital right next door, and the VA hospital is within 5 minutes, so the location works out perfect for my father. My dad's room has a sitting area, a small kitchenette, a bedroom area, and a pretty good-sized bathroom that's handicap-accessible. He's safe there, and he seems happy with the food. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner at 8:00, noon, and 5:00. I appreciate that the place doesn't smell bad, and the people are very friendly. If there's one thing I could change, I wish somebody was at the front door so that when you go the facility, you can walk in and not just ring a bell on the front porch and wait for an employee to let you in because sometimes you could be standing outside for 15 minutes, and when you leave, somebody also has to ring you out because you cannot just walk out the door.

Right now, my mother is at Sterling House. She has been there for almost two years now. I chose it because I particularly like the employees. That was my main drawing point to them. All the others, their rooms and their dining area and everything, seemed to be very similar, but the employees at the Sterling House I was very pleased with and felt like they did lots with the residents. They have lots of activities for them. Their staff is wonderful. They're all very good. My mother has a bedroom area with a small refrigerator and a little sitting area. Mostly it is pretty much just a bedroom and bath, yet she has a full private bath. For activities, they have bingo, chair aerobics, and chair volleyball. Yesterday, they went to a senior citizens event. They have Bible studies. They have music and church services. They have lots of things going on all the time. I had tried eating there and the food was good. Their grounds are beautiful. Their yard is always very maintained. They have beautiful flowers growing in the courtyard, and bird feeders, and chairs all out in the courtyard area. It is really pretty.

Mom had lived in Sterling House of Greenville. It was nearby where my mother used to live. So, location was very good for that purpose. It was a nicely appointed and well maintained facility. The staff was very good. The food was satisfactory. However, some of the administration parts were not very good. The billing was problematic. Although they had all the information available where to send stuff, they were sending the bills to her attention although she was at their address and we never received the bills.

When my father needed a facility, I looked at Sterling House of Greenville. I was very pleased with this facility. They gave me a tour and sat down with me to explain all the finances and discuss the situation. The staff were very nice and very accommodating. They also seemed to be very caring people. They have a calendar of activities for the residents. They have a place for their arts and crafts. The facility is just so wonderful, but I just couldn't afford it. It's way out of my budget.

Sterling Place is nice and fancy. It was more for residents that were able to get around and take care of themselves. The lady residents were well dressed and they had earrings, make-up and hair done just right.

The facility and the people were nice. They were very informative, polite and professional. It's just that my mom didn't want to go.

My mom stayed at Sterling House two years ago. It was the first place we put her after she moved out of her house. We chose it because it was more like a little apartment and it was small. She liked the garden and there was a recreation room where they played games and had exercises. The staff seemed very nice, helpful, caring and they encouraged the residents to participate in the activities. They seemed like they knew the residents and they were attentive to the special needs of my mom. The food was good although she did not like that they served breakfast food in the evening meal in the latter part of her stay. She was very happy there. I would recommend it if you had the budget.

Sterling House is a small quaint little assisted living facility. My husband and I were charmed by the residents and the general feeling of the facilities. There was a bingo game going on and we saw the nursing assistants sitting with residents and playing with them. There were a few visitors there and we talked to a few of them. All seemed happy with there experience so far. The retirement part of the facility had cute little apartments and there seemed to be a good sense of community. Good balance of staff and residents. Everything looked clean. I think there were less than 100 beds total, with lots of single rooms and apartments.

i really enjoyed visiting this facility. one of the things i enjoyed was listening to one of the staff members joke with one of the residents. It showed me how friendly and down to earth the staff members was. As i walked threw the lobby i also notice how a lot of the residents was watching TV and carrying on conversations among each other about they're families. Its nice to see a place were residents and staff could be so neighborhood friendly. The place was clean and the food smelled great. I will not forget the time i spent at this assisting living facility. It was definitely one for the books.
