We are going to try to move Mom into Morningview at Irving Park. I liked how clean it was, and the people were very friendly. The rooms were very nice and spacious. The staff who gave me the tour was great. The rooms are a pretty good size with nice bathrooms, nice size windows, and good views outside. They had a garden outside in the center courtyard area. The dining area was nice. It was a large area, and the menu looked good. We didn't have any food, but it looked like they had a good variety.

Morningview at Irving Park is nice. It has a colonial look on the outside. It is clean and kept up with. The staff member who assisted us was good. She was friendly and accommodating. They have a washing machine and dryer upstairs, and you can do your own laundry. They have a beauty salon and a library. They have plenty of parking right up front before you go in. The landscaping was like a big colonial house. The hallways are wider than other places. They presented what was there and they were cordial and informative about it. The appearance of the whole place was nice.

The tour at Morningview at Irving Park was very nice, but it was very expensive. Its $2,000 more than what my parents are paying at the other community, so it was way out of our league. We didn't see any activities during our visit because it was 8:00 in the morning. The staff member was very nice and extremely kind. It's a well-run community. I can't imagine the staff being anything but wonderful.

My dad was at Morningview at Irving Park. I loved it. I would use them again and recommend them. They were great. The facility was very nice. It's the kind of place that you would feel comfortable leaving anybody. The pancakes were great. There were a lot of people sitting out in the courtyard and sitting in the halls and the front porch. It's just a really nice and friendly place. When he got there, all the employees and some of the residents were in the foyer with a big greeting for him. They've worked with me real well. The staff was very friendly, very good, and reasonable.

Morningview was our second choice. It was very clean. The staff was friendly. The rooms were pleasant. Their activities were very much the same as the other community. The common room was not as warm or inviting, but it was pleasant. The biggest difference for us is that the memory care unit is on the second floor, and we did not like that. The residents always have to go and get somebody to take them to the outside area.

Morningview at Irving Park was very impressive. It seemed smaller, which was good because it's more intimate. They had apartments with different types of living spaces available to residents. The single room was very well lit, had a very pleasant environment, a large closet, and a very large bathroom. The living space was extremely pleasant and warm and had a lot of light. They were a little on the higher end in pricing.

Morningview at Irving Park was nice. I had a great impression of the place. The staff was nice. The man who was supposed to meet me got his Saturdays mixed up, so someone else met me. However, she wasn't as familiar with giving a tour. The dining area and apartment were nice.

My uncle is at Morningview at Irving Park. It is no comparison to the other community he was in before. It's a happy place. When you walk into the reception area, you do not find people sitting in their wheelchairs like they're drugged. The food is delicious. My uncle is eating too much and gaining weight because he loves the food. It is like a restaurant that has a menu for each meal. They decide what they want. My uncle was saying, "I don't even have to call. They'll come in every hour or so and ask me if there's anything I need." It's less expensive than what I was paying. They have a veterans group and go out once a month to a steakhouse. Last time, they went to a Japanese place. My uncle is thrilled. He is having physical therapy and occupational therapy, so he is a busy boy! It is the most wonderful place. He is responding beautifully. The staff is very encouraging.

Morningview at Irving Park was very nice. What I was really impressed with was that they had a place for physical therapy and a place for families to come visit and watch TV or talk. They also had a section for memory care, which was very interesting. They give discounts to veterans.

Morningview was pleasant but older and small, so I didn't like it as much. The staff was very friendly, and the two people I met were very nice.

Morningview at Irving Park had a salon. The facility was secure, so I knew that my loved one wouldn't be able to get out and wander away. The staff seemed to care about the residents and was very friendly. The rooms were very nice. The common rooms were well-maintained.

Morningview at Irving Park was a nice facility, but a little too far away from my home for me to have my mom there; probably about a 40-minute drive from my house. The staff I met seemed very nice and very attentive. The rooms were very nice, too. I was impressed with the rooms and the furnishings. I thought it was a very nice facility, but I didn’t find it to be as clean.

My sister and I visited Morningview for our parents. However, the only room that they had available was not an acceptable one. The staff was not overly friendly, but we weren’t there for very long. The one room that they had available that we felt might possibly work for my parents was right over a large, mechanical structure. The room was spacious and nice, but we didn’t like looking out at this structure. At the time we visited, there was one group doing some exercise activity. They had another room where they had puzzles and arts and crafts for them to do. We liked the location and that it was small so my parents would be able to find their way down to the dining room and easily go where they want to go.

As a result of Caring.com, we found Morningview at Irving Park for my wife’s aunt and she is there now and very happy. She’s doing very well. Caring.com helped us by referring us there. They showed a lot of attention; they worked very hard and we appreciate it.
The staff was a lot more professional than the former place she was in. They all seemed to have a really great attitude and a lot of genuine concern for the well-being of the people who lived there. They seemed to have adequate staff to do things very well. The food is great. They have very intelligent policies and we’re very happy that we made the move.
There are a couple of other retirement places very close there. There’s a business park near it and also some dwellings; it seems to be a fine neighborhood. She is invited to a lot of daily activities. It’s just about as good as it gets.

My mother is in Morningview now. The staff is good. The rooms are clean and excellent. They play bingo and bowling. She is in the memory care unit, and it is a locked area. They send meals from the kitchen to the dining room.

There were two of them that we visited, and we were not as impressed with either one of them. Morningview at Irving Park did not seem to be as up-to-date, and they did not seem to be as clean. They didn't smell as good. So there were a number of issues there, and we were not impressed with them. The people seemed OK, but we weren't impressed with the facilities themselves. The rooms seemed OK. It was just the overall quality of the place that didn't seem to match up to what we have seen in the other place. They need to improve the quality of the facility, things being up-to-date, the smell, and the cleanliness. Those are the main issues.

We were very impressed with Morningview including the friendliness, the cleanliness, and the menu. The food was very tasty and very appetizing. If my father-in-law had not chosen to move in with his son, it would've been the place we selected. The rooms were nice, cozy, comfortable, and seemed big. The staff was very helpful and patient with us and answered our questions.

I would say the gentleman that I dealt with was very nice. He kind of indicated that he would go out of his way, but he never followed through in helping me find another place. Morningview at Irving Park was just too fancy for what my father wanted. It looked like a terrific place. Their rooms were actually smaller than the other facility I visited. As I recall, it was a very nice place, but it was more than what my father wanted. They have a community room and a dining room. I don't remember whether they have an exercise room or not, but they do have an activity program.

The thing that turned me off about Morningview was thatI did have a scheduled appointment and the person giving the tour evidently forgot about me; she was not there. But the receptionist was EXTREMELY helpful! She was trying to call someone for me but she couldn't get someone to do that. Ultimately, she decided she would just do it herself although that's not what she typically does. So she couldn't give me any hard figures and I didn't get all the information I did from the other places. But at least she took me around and told me her own personal experience because her husband was in memory care. I thought that was nice.
It seemed like it was a much older facility. That place was a little gloomy. The layout was also a horseshoe design. I didn't care for the fact that the memory care was upstairs. All the rooms were a little bit average. I noticed that there was music playing and the residents were not moving around very much, but people were working with them.

Morningview is nice to look at outside and inside as well. They have different rooms, but the companion rooms are too small. The staff that I met was pleasant. We had lunch there, and it was nice. They had a calendar of activities in the hall.

Morningview had a great environment. The people and the staff were both friendly. I was very pleased. The rooms were spacious and comfortable for the residents. I ate there and the food was good. They had a variety of activities from music, to games, to exercise, to celebrations like birthdays of the residents. They had walks. They had a beautiful outdoor gazebo area and courtyard for their patients. It was also very sunny.

Morningview was right down the street. It was totally assisted living, but it was very nice. I thought that they had a really nice rehab type of deal. They were very nice, and they were animal friendly. I went down there with my mom, and we were going to have dinner, and the girl there was really cool. She said, "Your mom, she's like independent living." So, I didn't want to have dinner if she wasn’t going to go there.

The people at Morningview are really friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They're willing to serve and attend to our needs. The rooms are quaint and inviting. They just kind of rolled out the red carpet and put their best foot forward. I think they're very reasonable as far as the price. They pretty much do all they can. They find innovative ways to integrate seniors who are reluctant to do activities. Everybody was just friendly and open. They're more willing to work with us price-wise. Their excitement and liveliness was incorporating and inviting. We really liked the fact that they were extremely friendly.

Since my mother-in-law came to the Memory Care Unit
at Morningview 30 days ago, my husband and I have been well pleased with the overall care and attention that she has received. Both the administrative staff and the medical caregivers have been attentive to her specific medical needs and general well being. The staff has quickly addressed our concerns for "mom" whenever we have asked them to do so. We are particularly pleased with the degree of flexibility shown by the staff in order to accommodate her condition. Mom is adjusting well as she is participating in various activities and enjoys telling us about the "good food". Although we are pleased with the entire staff at the facility, we would like to give special recognition and praise to the 3pm - 11pm shift as this is the "on-duty" staff at the time of our evening visits. Thanks...and may God richly bless and keep all of you!

I've visited six facilities and the one that I was least impressed with was Morning View. The reception staff was excellent, but the director was not very helpful or attentive. I was just not impressed with the whole assisted living memory care because they all appeared the same to me, which is why I decided to keep mom at home. They could be nice places, but none of them meets the needs of my mom who has advanced Alzheimer's.

Definitely not a place you want to send your relative. Halls often had an odor, administration seems uninterested once the resident has entered the facility; very high staff turnover; food was below par. Additionally, there is no place for residents to socialize other than the front door where they all gather. Very poor design for residents. Our family member did not feel his needs were attended to when he called for assistance.

As I walked through the doors, I noticed that everything was quiet...very quiet actually. There was an elderly lady sitting at the receptionist's desk who politely asked if I needed help and I told her that I was there to consider volunteering for a couple of hours one day and I wanted to tour the facility. She was pleasantly surprised and said that she did not get too many people my age in there that wanted to help.
My first impressions were good. The outside of the building was clean and the people that I did meet were very cordial. The very front part of the inside was clean and the staff seemed pleasant. I am former US Army Counter-Intel so I pay attention to my surroundings more than other people. I notice things that other people do not even comprehend.
I spent two hours there and in the first 30 minutes, I noticed a worker getting agitated with a patient because she was being a little "overbearing". I was in the medical field for a while and I know what Dementia looks like and the patient had a severe case of it. It's not the patient's fault and the worker should know that. She never laid a hand on the patient or anything like that but you could tell that the verbal abuse was getting there.
I continued my walk and noticed that many of the elderly looked as if they were off in some far off place but some were having actual fun. A lot of the workers looked like the thoroughly enjoyed their jobs. One worker actually kissed a patient on the forehead. Another gave one a hug.
Soon afterwards it was my time to go. Overall I gave Morningview 4 out of 5 stars. I would have given them 5 if not for that one hiccup with the worker.
