Waltonwood Providence was beautiful, but it was pricy. The staff I interacted with was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were beautiful and practically brand new. It had everything that we would need. They had clubs and transportation available. They offered breakfast and dinner, which was very nice.

The facility is lovely, and the setting is convenient. Some individual staff members are terrific but the overall management is poor. Cost cutting is very evident in the dining room. The food quality is poor - assuming you actually get a meal. There often is no food for the second sitting at dinner. Wait staff will make you wait 40 minutes to an hour before informing you that there's no meal for you. By then, all the kitchen staff have left for the day - so sorry. This isn't an occassional problem. This happens on a regular basis. Many residents have taken to walking to Waverly for meals at the restaurants there. Dietary restrictions? Good luck with that. Yes, there is an alternative option for the greasey, over-salted, over cooked meal options, but there is only one alternative option, and it's the same one every day. How many times do you want that for dinner? There's a new chef and a new dining room supervisor. No noticeable improvement so far. Currently counting the days until my lease is up.

Waltonwood Providence is horrible. The food is horrible. The service is horrible. It's filthy. The managers are awful. They don't want to hear anything. The managers are very bad. I throw my dinner out every night and I'm not alone. I wouldn't give it to the dog. The meat is tough, you can't chew it. It's all overcooked, and it's horrible. I never would have moved in here. I do not recommend this place. I recommend you stay away from it. My room is not cleaned properly. I've been here over a year and it hasn't been deep cleaned once. All they want is money. They're money hungry and they don't give you service or food. Nothing for your money and it's not cheap, I'm paying over $5000 a month here. Most of the people here belong in assisted. They just don't care what they are. Some of them are dangerous. They go around checking doors at night and they don't do anything about it. They have a game room, a hobby room, and they have mostly movies and people go to old movies. The best thing here is the therapy if you can get into therapy. The residents are around 90-ish. When I moved here, it was during the pandemic. You couldn't get into anything.

Management is apathetic and dismissive. I would rate them 1 star. Food is a consistent 2 stars and you are paying for 5 stars. There are excellent individual staffers, but the organization as a whole is profit-oriented, uncaring, expensive, and essentially valueless.

Waltonwood Providence started off good in 2018 when my mother-in-law moved into an independent living apartment. Things declined quickly thereafter. Food quality/quantity dropped significantly. Items were often no longer available by the 2nd dinner seating. Heavy-handed sauces, over-salting & very small portions were typical. Breakfast is continental only, no lunch & if the kitchen is closed, there are zero food options. Other places allow access to food at any time and have full, hot breakfasts and lunches. There is only one happy hour a week here compared to multiple days at other places. Pre-COVID socializing in the common areas was almost non-existent. During the COVID lockdown, portions shrank further. They began to charge $1 for a small carton of milk (previously incl) for dry cereal. The afternoon snack could be a cut "piece" of a soft pretzel or a snack-bite mini chocolate bar! The food deprivation was particularly difficult as residents were captive in the building. They stopped shuttle service for doctor trips. We felt that Waltonwood's focus was cost-cutting at the great expense of its residents. Those who complained were told they were free to leave. She did!

Waltonwood Providence was very nice and new, and the amenities were great. I know someone staying at the assisted living part, which was nice, too. We had a good lunch there. They had workout rooms and different programs that you could join in, which were all good.

I toured a lot of the apartments at Waltonwood Providence. My Garden Club also went there last Friday, and did flower arranging for some of the ladies who live there. The facilities are quite nice. I’ve seen their garden room, which is quite lovely. People can bring their own plants, and raise them. They have a garden outside that the ladies or the men can have a garden in the summer.

It's a beautiful facility.  It has natural light, and it just seems very cheery.  I felt excited for my grandmother rather than depressed about sending her to Waltonwood Providence, and part of that was the way the place was structured.  There are different rooms for different activities, which is really nice.  The lady at the front desk and the woman who gave me the tour were really sweet.  They have bible study, a little hair salon, a courtyard, and a gardening room. The independent living is very similar to the assisted living, so when the time comes and she moves over to the assisted living part, it doesn't feel like a drastic difference.  A big thing for us was that there's a separate living room from the bedroom.
