I visited Twelve Oaks and I got a good overall impression. The amenities are average to slightly average. The rooms were basic and everything was clean, but they didn't have any kitchen facilities, just a bathroom. They have a salon, and they have a small kind of living room area with books, games, and a TV. The staff seemed very nice, knowledgeable, and helpful.

This week I had the pleasure of visiting a family member living at the facility when i visited for two days this week. I am a physician specializing in internal medicine and geriatrics and this was my first visit to the facility. I wanted to note how impressed I was. The facility was lovely and ideally organized. Everything was convenient and comfortable and as nice as if I was visiting a friend in their nice home. The residents all seemed happy and at home. All the staff were very very friendly , professional, and seemed highly experienced and very capable. I visited three separate times with each visit lasting a few hours. And one visit had a early evening birthday party for one resident where most of the residents on that wing attended. I found everyone to be one big happy family with a loving, capable, energetic, friendly staff that quickly easily, and expertly managed everything. I am very thankful that my family member has found an ideal place to live for the time of his life when he needs a lot of help. My mother-in-law is in Twelve Oaks. It is a very high-quality facility, beautiful, very clean, and nestled in the woods. The staff is very attentive and very caring. The place is very nice and well-maintained, and they have very good leadership. The administrator has been there for quite some time, and she is highly respected not only in the facility but also in the community. We are very pleased in being able to find such a nice caring place for my mother-in-law so we don't have to worry. They have very good medical and nursing staff there. I chose this facility because it's within 5 minutes of my work, so if she needs anything, I could just run right over.

Twelve Oaks was very clean. They had very nice personnel who seemed very concerned about their patients. I looked at a couple of semi-private and private rooms that were decent and roomy. In the private rooms, there was enough room for a small couch or maybe a recliner. The staff take residents on field trips around the historic sites on top of in-house activities. Overall, I was really impressed with it.

My Mom has been at Twelve Oaks in the Memory Care section for 2 years. From day one I have been pleased with the care she has received. The staff truly work as a team to meet the needs my Mom has. I usually visit unannounced and at different times and days....the staff has been consistent in response, attentiveness, being of help, kindness, caring and professional appropriate reaction to the sometimes inappropriate behavior of the patients. I rest well knowing my Mom is being well taken care of with dignity, professionalism and compassion.

My mother has lived at Twelve Oaks a little over 2 yrs. and has loved it since the first day. I volunteer at Bingo each Friday with Anna B., their activity director. What a rewarding experience this has been for me. I'm thankful for places like Twelve Oaks when our loved ones are no longer able to live alone.

We were pleased with the care Daddy received at Twelve Oaks in Mount Airy. He was in the memory care unit, and although he had his bad times, he also joked around and sang to his care givers. The staff were wonderful to him and truly care for his well being. Thank you for doing for Daddy what we could no longer do. You truly revealed your love and care when he passed away earlier this month.

Our friend who was kicked out of other facilities that said they could manage the aggressive behaviors that sometimes are part of Alzheimer's/dementia found a home at Twelve Oaks! The staff at this facility are caring and know how to diffuse behaviors that sometimes interrupt his care. When we visit he and his room is clean without odor. We are amazed that the staff involve him in activities even though he is not responsive to his environment.
