Kannapolis Family Care Home was very small. There are only about 5 patients that they have. I like that it was very small, they got to know who the people were because they were right there with them all the time. I like that they all sat at the big table to eat and they sat in the den. They just had a birthday party for one of the residents, she was going through her presents while others were watching TV or walking around. They were all right there together. The person that normally gave tours wasn't there, so one of the ladies that was assisting with the patients helped me. And she did a great job, she took it upon herself to do it. She was very calm, very easygoing with the residents, and introduced them and showed us around. She was very good. There were some questions I had that she couldn't answer because that wasn't her normal job description, but she did the best she could. And then a woman who normally does it called me back later and apologized, and answered my questions, so that was nice. The place was very nice. There was no sign to the facility and there were no cars around it, so we weren't sure if we were in the right place or not. The lawn was a little unkempt, the grass was high, so we thought maybe it wasn't the place. But on the inside, it was very nice.

My husband was in Kannapolis Family Care Home, which had more of a home setting rather than a nursing home setting. It had 24/7 caregivers and they only had three residents there. It was very clean and I have nothing bad to say about it at all. I've never personally tasted the food, but it always looked good. They said they did activities with them, but I don't know how much. I think the value for the money is excellent because I did a lot of checking around and it was fine.
