Memory Care

Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia can be overwhelming and scary for both patients and their families. Families have important questions and concerns: How will the disease progress? What changes can I expect to see in my loved one? How do I know when I need to seek help in my loved one’s care? How do we transition him or her from home to a skilled care setting? How will he or she be supported emotionally? How will I know my loved one is safe and secure?

We can address these concerns and many more. Saber’s highly trained and experienced professionals have the expertise, patience and compassion to understand the complex needs of dementia patients – and their loved ones. We know these conditions affect the whole family and work closely with all involved to address the needs and concerns of all parties.

Saber creates memory care environments and services specifically designed to meet the many challenges and needs of those suffering from memory-related disease. Key to our care plan is providing meaningful activities for our patients. Every event, every interaction, every procedure is an opportunity to provide an enriching, connective activity. It might be an outing, a backrub, a dance or a meal. Whatever it is, the principles involved always involve being flexible and focusing on the person's individual capabilities and level of functional ability.

Our expert staff is trained to deliver these memory care services in a professional, compassionate manner. Saber’s professional memory care nurses, physicians, therapists and other team members address each patient’s needs with medical expertise and warm, supportive care.

Each of our memory care team members receives intensive, interactive education on the following topics to ensure the best care for patients:

  • Overview and understanding of the progression of Alzheimer's disease
  • Person-centered care
  • Communication techniques
  • Addressing challenging behaviors to maintain a safe, relaxed and comfortable living environment
  • Working as a team with families
  • Providing meaningful activities

Finally, we offer open living spaces and secured outdoor areas that make it safe and inviting for memory care residents. Our goal is to make our space feel like home and provide a relaxing, familiar and comfortable environment.

Thank you for your interest at Gabriel Manor Assisted Living and Memory Care. Please give us a call to schedule a free tour.

Gabriel Manor was a great place. The staff was very loving, very caring, and showed compassion, but they were just too expensive. If I could afford it, that's where I would take my father. The tour was very lovely. The staff interacted well with the residents. I saw a shared room with a shared bathroom, but the residents still have their own privacy. It was well-designed. The facility was very clean and well organized, and the rooms felt homey. They had a fitness room, a TV room, and an outdoor gazebo area.

My tour of Gabriel Manor was good. It's like an older community. The outside was nice, but the inside wasn't as good. The apartments were OK, but a little worn. I don't know if it was the color of the place; it just seemed dull and dingy. It's not dirty, but it's not as clean and fresh as the other place. The outside spaces were excellent. The staff during the tour was great. The dining area was nice. The outside was excellent and well maintained. The inside could use a little work. I don't know if it's the paint color or what. It just was dull in there. It needs bright colors.

This place is very unprofessional. The Sales director says one thing and turns around and says something else. Because of this, they cannot be trusted when dealing with families of potential residents. We met with the sales director about placing my husband at Magnolia Glen for a 2 week respite care. She met my husband and family when delivering us the required paperwork to be completed and informed me at that time there should not be any problems. When we went on that Tuesday, before admitting him that Friday, they did the assessment. Nothing was said to me about not taking him. As a matter of fact they took all the paperwork and tried to take the full payment but they couldn't as the person who took the payments were not available. I got a call on Wednesday from them telling me they cannot accept my husband as they felt they could not meet his needs. I tried to explain that his needs are low as he is very self sufficient. The things they were telling me had nothing to do with his needs but what was easiest for them. Even though they call themselves a locked memory care dementia unit, they do not take certain dementia patients. They said most of their patients have dementia from a stroke and since my husband didn't have a stroke and can care for himself they would not take him. They were afraid he would wander off. I guess their locked unit isnt very secure. There was no indication there were problems before the phone call. I would think twice before placing my loved one there.

Gabriel Manor was very nice and I liked it. The rooms were a little bit more like studios, so if you're looking for something more apartment-like, it wouldn't be the place to go. They were a good size though, and weren't really small.

We chose Gabriel Manor for my mom because of close proximity to her ongoing lifestyle and her doctors. She's very engaged in all the activities they're doing, and it's been very positive. They have a lot of activities, but she complained a little bit about the food. She's enjoying it there. I was disappointed that her room was relatively small, and I thought she'd have more living space for the amount of money that's charged. The staff has been very cooperative with us and very helpful thus far.

Gabriel Manor is the newest facility I’ve visited, and it’s the closest one to where I live. The dining area is very nice, and they serve three meals a day.

I visited Gabriel Manor for my grandmother. I visited and spoke with them. My grandmother’s youngest brother is a resident there. He has Alzheimer's. The facility is clean. Everybody is very polite. That’s the one I want to put my grandmother in.

Gabriel Manor was new and nice, and I like it. I like their rooms. I like their shared rooms. It’s not side by side; it’s like a T-shape so it’s a resident would have a room to themselves and they have TV already installed. It was just a very nice facility.
