I visited The Claiborne at Adelaide. The staff was very helpful and very clear. The tour was well done. They fed my dad once, so he was able to say what the meals were going to be like there. It was just a very good, very well-put-together tour, where there wasn't any rushing or anything in that. She was very good about addressing my dad.
He's not a meat-eater, so they did try to go vegetarian. I thought they could have done a little bit better. It was no different from what he had when he was in rehab, and I expected for that amount of money, that it would be a little bit better. It was absolutely clean, the rooms that they showed us. The carpets were clean, and everything was ready for somebody to move in. I don't see how anybody could have found anything wrong; it's just very nice.

We've toured The Claiborne at Adelaide in Starkville. I think our problem with that is although they have individual cottages, assisted living, and memory care, they don't have skilled nursing. You'd have to move out of the facility to go to a nursing home.
We've seen their independent living and assisted living. I've also toured their memory care with a friend. The visit was good.
The staff who assisted us during the tour was good. The facility is very adequate and it's fairly new. Everybody is friendly and I think they do a good job. It's just the fact that they have no skilled care in between assisted living and memory. You'd have to go to a nursing home for it.
It's very easy to get to, it's located in the south part of Starkville. They have cottages with 2 and 3 bedrooms, and garages which are right next to it. You'd have to go outside the building to go get your meals if you wanted to do that. They have this big building that has their assisted living and memory care too.
We've visited friends there too. They play bridge and people from different churches come in and do activities too. They have parades and MSU athletes come and things like that. I think you get your money's worth.
